Age limit :
There is no age limit for the candidates to appearing in JEE (Mains) Exam. The candidates who have passed XII examination in 2017, 2018 or appearing in 2019 irrespective of their age can appear in JEE (Main) Exam – 2019. The candidates should satisfy themselves about the age limit requirements of the Institutes in which he/she is desirous of taking admission.
Must have passed 12thclass or qualifying exam in 2017 or 2018.
The one who is pursuing class 12th or qualifying exam in 2019 can also apply for JEE Main Exam 2019.
Students who have passed 12th exams in 2016 are not eligible to apply. Students, who have appeared in 12th exams in 2016, but did not pass in 2016 and passed in 2017 are not eligible to apply.
The mandatory 5 subjects for B.Tech/ B.E. for JEE Main Exam are:
1-Language, 2-Physics, 3-Mathematics, 4-Any one of (Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Technical Vocational Subject), 5-Any other subjects
The 5 subjects for B.Arch/ B.Planning for JEE Main Exam are:
1-Language, 2-Physics, 3-Mathematics (compulsory), 4-Any one of (Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Technical Vocational Subject), 5-Any other subjects
Marks required in qualifying exam
Should have secured 75% to take admissions to NITs/ IIITs/ GFTIs in class 12th exam or be in the top 20 percentile in the class 12th exam conducted by the respective boards.
For SC/ ST, the criteria are 65% marks in class 12th.
Number of attempts
A JEE Main Exam can avail 3 attempts for the national level undergraduate engineering entrance exam.
