Overview & Key Facts about UGC NET Exam

UGC NET (National Eligibility Test) will be conducted by NTA (National Testing Agency) from December 2018 onwards on behalf of the University Grants Commission. Applicants who will qualify this exam will be able to apply for the junior research fellowship and for the posts of assistant professor.

Key Facts of UGC NET Exam

UGC NET Exam is conducted in 84 subjects.
This UGC NET Exam is held in around 91 cities all across the nation.
The candidates who are selected for JRF award are eligible to pursue their research in subject of their post graduation.
Candidates who are qualifying for Assistant Professor will not be considered for award of JRF.
The one who qualify all the three papers of UGC NET Exam deserves JRF award and eligibility for Assistant Professor.
UGC NET is held twice in a year (January and July) by NTA.
UGC NET is National Level Exam conducted by NTA (National Testing Agency).
