Punjabi University

Dr. S. Radhakrishnan, the former President of India, founded the Punjabi University in 1962 and is located at Patiala, Punjab. The University is approved by UGC, AICTE and is accredited “Grade A” by NAAC. In 1961, the Punjab Assembly passed the Punjab Act No. 35 which led to the establishment of the university. About 274 colleges are affiliated to this university. It has 6 regional centres, 12 constituent colleges, 9 campuses and 65 teaching or research departments.

Punjabi University Courses are offered through its Departments, Regional Centres, Neighbourhood Campuses, Constituent Colleges, Affiliated Colleges, and Distance Education. It offers various Undergraduate, Postgraduate, Diploma, Certificate and Doctoral Programs.

Punjabi University Infrastructure Facilities:

Punjabi University is located on a modern campus of 316 acres. The campus is well connected to the important parts of Patiala through road and railways. The various infrastructure facilities are given below:

Library:

University Library is stocked with more than 4,20,000 volumes and is subscribed to more than six hundred journals.

Computer Centre:

Punjabi University, Patiala Admission

Established in the year 1962, Punjabi University has 55 teaching and research depts. Disciplines offered are Arts, Humanities & Sciences. The University has 20 regional Centers & Affiliated colleges with campus sprawling across 316 acres. At present, Punjabi University offers various Bachelor’s, Master’s, Post graduate diploma (PGD), Advance Post Graduate Diploma, Certificate and Doctorate Degree Programs.

Candidates can apply through online as well as offline mode of registration. The courses offered by Punjabi University in the fields of Library sciences, Pharmacy, Management, Commerce, Languages, Computer Application, Performing Arts, Law, Engineering, and Business Administration. The university also has the provision of Lateral entry for some courses. In addition to imparting education through regular mode, Punjabi University Patiala Distance Education is established to offer the courses through distance mode.

Admission to BA, BHM, BPT, MA, M.Sc, MCA is done on the basis of qualifying examination merit.
Candidates are shortlisted for M.Tech, M.Com, MBA, LL.M, M.Ed based on the entrance test scores.
For M.Phil/Ph.D admission, candidates are required to appear in Punjabi University Entrance Test.
Registration for all the courses usually commence in the month of June every year.

Punjabi University offers B.A in various fields of Humanities and Languages and B.Sc degree in Mathematics. Duration of each course is 3 years. Candidates, who wish to take admission in any of the courses mentioned below, can download the application cum admission form from the University’s website from April/May onwards.

Punjabi University offers variety of PG courses in the disciplines of Information and Library Sciences, Physical Education, Pharmacy and Physiotherapy.

Punjabi University offers MCA and MBA programs for the duration of two years. Admission to these courses will be done on the basis of scores obtained in the Entrance Exam conducted by the University.

Punjabi University offers M.Sc courses in 15 disciplines. The duration of all the courses is 2 years. The University also offers part time and fulltime M.Tech courses in 4 disciplines. Selected candidates are required to appear for counseling on scheduled date.

In case of total number of marks are not mentioned in the DMC of the candidate, then to evaluate the minimum eligibility criteria of 60% will be obtained by calculating the total of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics English and one subject having more marks.

Submit the Online Application-cum-Admission Form through the official portal.
Obtain the Login ID and Password on the registered mobile number.
Use the student dashboard to select College/ Courses of your choice. A candidate can apply for 10 different Course-College combinations.
Upon locking of choices, the application will be forwarded to the respective colleges.
Once locked, choices cannot be edited. However, the list of college-course selection can be added in future also.
