Classrooms

To facilitate the seamless delivery of lectures to a large number of students specialising in various fields of study, the campus is separated into many academic blocks. The New Academic Block is where most management course lectures are held (NAB). These well-designed classrooms, which lie below ground in a well-kept garden, have ample space for students to sit comfortably. Every classroom is equipped with computers, speakers, screens, projectors, blackboards, and central air conditioning.

Library

The library can accommodate up to 8,000 students and has 246 open-access IT workstations as well as 738 open-access study spaces.  It has student computer facilities in addition to the usual books and magazines.

More than half a million items are in our collections, including:

  • Approximately 3,000 titles of journals are published now.
  • More than 20,000 electronic resources, including ebooks, articles, and databases.

Computer Lab

A computer lab is kept up by the Department of Management next to the research scholars' workspace. This computer lab is available to department staff, scholars, and students. The computational demands of management discipline students are especially met by this lab. 

In addition, the Department of Economics & Finance and the Department of Management use the same computer lab. Students can use the institute's cutting edge Information Processing Centre (IPC) in addition to these two computer laboratories. All institute students have access to the IPC, which is situated across from the Department of Management's building.

Student Accommodation

All students at the institute have access to dorm accommodations, which is totally residential. Only in unusual cases may students whose parents or close relatives are Pilani residents be allowed permission to become day scholars. One hostel complex for females and eleven hostels for boys are available. The dorm rooms come fully equipped with internet access, solar water heaters, and water purifiers as standard features. Every hostel has a common area with a phone and cable television.

Every pair of two-boy hostels has a kitchen/mess combo. On the other hand, the hostel for girls has its own mess that is located inside the hostel's walls. It is required that students residing in the dorm eat their meals in the dorm mess areas. The students are in complete control of the mess associated with the dorms.

Sports

A sound body leads to a sound mind. The institute has several facilities to guarantee that students have proper access to various activities and sports. Students congregate voluntarily at the Student Activity Centre (SAC) to play badminton, tennis, squash, table tennis, and boxing during the morning and evening hours. 

Members of the health club may work out in the building's gymnasium, which offers equipment for weight training, cardio, and aerobic activities. Every semester, pupils are taught yoga and martial arts. There is a 25 x 12.5 m swimming pool where people may swim and play water polo.

Every amenity required for its residents is available on the BITS Pilani campus. In the medical centre, there are general practitioners, gynaecologists, dentists, paediatricians, and ENT specialists. The same facility also offers ayurvedic medical services. 

Free medical examinations are occasionally arranged for the physical health of BITS employees, instructors, and students. Additionally, the Medical Centre hosts camps to raise awareness of health issues and diagnose disorders including diabetes, osteoporosis, asthma, and other conditions. The institution hosts a blood donation camp each year. Prescription medications are available for all main types of medicines at the drugstore situated at the Medical Centre. Staff and students can use the cashless facility by presenting their ID cards. 

The medical facility itself has clinical laboratory facilities available for use. Anytime during the day or night, an ambulance is available inside the campus for medical emergencies. There is a dedicated ward at the Birla Savajanik Hospital within a few miles of the campus that is designated for BITS Pilani personnel, teachers, and students. The M. S. Eye Hospital and the institution have an agreement for both normal and emergency services. 

Additionally, this facility offers dental care services. Every student on campus has frequent access to a counsellor for any type of academic or personal therapy. The student incurs no costs whatsoever for the private, one-on-one therapy sessions.

Food, stationery, clothing, sports equipment, and other necessities are offered at discounted prices in the BITS Cooperative Store "Akshay." Fruits and vegetables are also sold in a different area of the same supermarket. The campus's Connaught Market saloons and parlours are available for use for grooming. Connaught Market is home to a number of more stores that provide food, clothing, medicine, and groceries. Javed Habib's hair salon is also located on campus.

In addition to the common areas near hostels where students may get delicious and healthful meals, there are other dining options on campus to satiate their appetites. The All Night Canteen (ANC), Food King, Looters, and Sky Lab are among the student favourites. These restaurants take a variety of payment methods and are open till late at night. Connaught boasts a couple of eateries as well. Together, these eateries serve food from many regions of India and the world, both vegetarian and non-vegetarian.

In 2004, BITS extended to Goa in an effort to serve a larger student body and provide a wider range of activities. This campus has its own distinct qualities yet offers a curriculum and academic structure comparable to Pilani.

BITS Hyderabad Facilities

The 200-acre campus of Birla Institute of Technology and Science Pilani in Hyderabad is expansive and verdant. It provides contemporary conveniences for all-around growth. There is a sports complex, library, and dorm on site. The following list includes some of the BITS Hyderabad infrastructure's standout characteristics.

Hostel: All of the students at the residential institute dwell in dorms. There are two hostels for girls and six for boys. There are two shared kitchen/mess units available to all students. There is a five-person student mess council that oversees the provision of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food options. It is mandatory for the dormitory residents at BITS Hyderabad to eat in a messy manner. 

The hostel provides basic amenities such as a cot, table, chair, ceiling fan, and cupboard. Solar water heating systems are installed. In each hostel, there are common rooms with cable television. All of the hostel rooms have access to the internet.

Healthcare: There is a medical centre at BITS Hyderabad that offers staff and students round-the-clock medical care. A compounder/lab technician, a sister, and two male doctors reside on campus for consultation. The medical facility has a blood sugar monitoring unit and an ECG machine. The medical institution has agreements in place with Medicine Hospital, Medchal, for any emergency patients.

Telephones: Faculty chambers and residences at the Birla Institute of Technology and Science Pilani Hyderabad campus include IP phones equipped with local and STD capability. Computer Facilities: In IPC Terminal Room 1, the BITS Pilani Hyderabad campus supplies IPC with sixty Lenovo ThinkCentre workstations along with extra graphics cards that run Redhat Linux 5.0 and Windows XP. Since they are all connected to the same network, any workstation may reach any computer server. Any user can operate in Windows XP or Unix/Linux environments, contingent on the availability of workstations. The facility provides internet access to students in a variety of professions. The voice system on campus is also managed by the centre.
