What are Management quota seats?

A government authority given to the private as well as deemed to be universities by which students can apply for direct admission in an institution is known as Management quota seats.

Government grants only allow only 15% of the seat to be filled by management\NRI quota. Private or deemed to be universities are only allowed running the mechanism of management quota for the 15% of the seats as they don’t receive any grants from the government.

There’s always a criteria for everything as 85% of the seats are filled on the merit basis and entrance tests same as there’s also some criteria for management quota as well. As per maximum of the university follows the criteria of minimum 50% marks in senior secondary school to apply for management quota seat.

Role of Management Quota for Engineering Students:

Engineering colleges offer management quota on the basis of 12th marks which facilitates engineering students to get admissions without appearing in any kind of exams or test. The minimum eligibility marks for the management quota seats is above 50% in total and as well as in physics, chemistry and mathematics separately. If we talk about government colleges for engineering , number of seats they provide and the number of aspirants who applies then nobody is unknown about the reality that how less students get the opportunity and how much tough competition is, that’s why private and deemed to be Universities has started running Engineering courses as but these are also not enough . There’s a very tough competitions and a long process of examination to get admission in engineering colleges but it can be easier by applying for management quota seat.

It’s been easier than earlier to get admission through management quota if you have missed the text by luck or missed the seat by one marks. If we talk about fees of engineering colleges in India then there are a lot of colleges charging as high as Rs.8 lakhs per year to Rs.60, 000 per year, it completely depends on the rank of the university and exposure they give. Many colleges or university may as you donation as well for the management quota seats but there are many more who doesn’t but the obvious thing is that the fees for the management quota admissions will be higher than others. The fees may vary depending on the branches and the colleges we select.

Role of Management quota seats for Medical Students:

Medical is the study which everyone recognizes and people prefer but the high competition between the aspirants to be a doctor has created a huge demand of the seats for MBBS. But there’s only limited number of seats in the government medical colleges which leaves aspirants to have no options but to choose private universities. But in private colleges as well aspirants has to clear many exams, counselling and eligibility criteria as well but for those who can’t clear minimum eligibility then there’s reserved management seat for those kind of students. It’s basically for those students who haven’t scored higher marks in entrance or missed the deadline of the application submission.

Eligibility for Management quota in medical colleges:

  • Candidate’s age must be 17 years.
  • Must has cleared 10+2 in the science stream with Biology , chemistry and physics as main subjects
  • Student must reside in India, NRI, OCI, PIO and Foreign nationals for the admission through management quota seats in the college.
  • Student must have appeared in NEET and should have NEET scorecard.

There are lots of medical colleges in India except the government colleges. There are many private universities as well as deemed to be universities that offer medical courses. But not every colleges has reserved management quota seats to be given . And if we talk about medical colleges than if there’s also but it’s highly demanded and to be grabbed as soon as one can. If we talk about the fees of the medical colleges than it’s already higher than the other courses. And as it’s mentioned above that the management quota seats are higher than the normal fees. If we take the average of the fees top medical colleges charges than we can say that the average fee of the year of medical college management quota seats can be around Rs.15 to 20 lakhs around. Although the fees are much higher but still many aspirants prefer to take management quota seats are medical is not a joke but a serious and one of the promising and respected field to be studied and make carrier in.

Management Quota Legal or Not?

If anyone talks about direct or faster way for a thing to be done, the first question raises in our minds is that ‘’is it legal or Not? Then it’s to inform you that it’s completely Legal in India. Government of India has authorized private and deemed to be universities to fill 15% of their seats to e filled by management quota.

Whenever we talk about management quota then the first thought we have in our mind is bribing in the different modes for example donations and securities. Then let it to be cleared that there’s nothing such as bribe, it’s as clear as crystal that management quota doesn’t asks bribe but just higher fees from those students who’s willing to reserve their through management quota.

What are the differences between the fees of the management seats and general seats?

It’s the important thing to know that what differences we will get between general fees and the fees before we go for management quota seat. So the fees of the management quota are 3 to 4 times higher than of the general fees.

After knowing this many question must would have raised in the mind, for example isn’t it too much? , It’s so unfair? And many more so le me inform you that the extra fees taken from those students are used in the maintenance of the institution. As we all know that the private universities are run by the different institutions and organizations so this 15% seats and the extra fees help in the running the management expenses. So it’s completely legal and appropriate to go for the management quota.

Process to Apply for Management Quota:

Every University has their own criteria for allocating management quota but basically there’s a typical process and it is:

  1. Application: Those students who are interested are supposed to directly apply to the institution and fill the formfor the management quota. Many institution prefer different forms and more application fees.
  2. Eligibility: When it comes to eligibility then the first priority for management quota is financial status. And also many universities asks for the minimum 50% in secondary school examination.
  3. Selection: The selection of candidates mostly for the management quota depends on the contacts and connections. First priority are those with contacts and sources and others depends on the above criteria.

Easy steps to get admission through the management quota:

There are lots of advantages one can take of the management quota seats to get admission in the courses like engineering and medical where it’s hard to get admissions even by attempting uncountable tests and exams and qualifying them. These are easy steps to get admissions through the management quota:

  • Research for the colleges and universities online and look for it if you want to get the admission through the management quota.
  • Don’t miss to contact the college admin and to provide the details of the admission process.
  • Never miss in the looking at their infrastructure, campus and facilities through the college websites.
  • Contact the college directly for the management quota seats don’t go to agents.

Is it a bad or good decision to get Admission through management quota?

So, if we talk about management quota being good or bad then it’s completely clear that there’s nothing illegal or inappropriate about getting admission through management quota. But things we should have in mind that many frauds are also done in the name of management quota by the unauthorized people so, better consult with the authorities for the management quota seats.

Documents Required for Management quota Admission:

  1. Identity proof: One should must have avalid government issued identity proof and should be submitted.
  2. Qualification certificates: One should submit all the mark sheets and certificates to the college for the Admission.
  3. Transfer certificate: One should submit transfer certificate from the previous institution during the time of the admission.
  4. Passport size photographs: One should provide their passport size photographs as per required asked by institution.
  5. Migration certificate: If you are outside the state or the country you are required to have migration certificate to be submitted.
  6. Other Documents: One may required to submit more documents depending on the students or the institution such as caste certificate or medical certificate.

Advantages and disadvantages of admission through management quota:

  • Advantages: Management quota seats ensures you a confirm seat in the institution, there’s not any changes made in the seat allotted once. There’s also no requirement of appearing test and clearing the rounds. It’s also for the last minute admissions. Management quota is the backup option for my aspirants and can lead to get admission instead of losing there a year of the studies. It also accesses the better facilities as those colleges have more equipments than the government colleges. Also helps in reducing pressure and stress and leads to faster admission process. It’s really easy to get admission if you don’t have attended any entrance exams, you can easily get admission on the base of your 12th exam marks even if you don’t have minimum qualification.
  • Disadvantages: If we observe than only one disadvantage can be seen in management quota seat and that is higher fees than the normal fees but as we get so lenient opportunity to get the admission. Overall management quota seats are convenient for those who’s willing to. But it ends up giving a huge financial burden. It also lack transparency as some colleges starts charging undescribed amounts.

Conclusion:

Hence, after knowing the information about management quota , it can be assumed that one can decide to go for management quota or not . As many questions are raised in the context of management quota and it’s working mechanisms. Therefore any candidates willing for management quota seats then can go for it after considering above facts about Management quota seats. As it’s the faster and easier mode of getting admission with better opportunities and many options. Management quota is not for everyone because it charges very high fees which not everyone can afford. Management Quota seats is not offered by every college, if you are passionate for your goals and achievements than management quota is not for you because the top colleges doesn’t offers the management quota seats to students. But if you have missed the chance by chance or luck is not in your hand than management quota is the best option you can go for a better and bright future.
