Kanpur University

Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University (CSJM) is a State University formally known as Kanpur University which was established in the year 1966. The University is located in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh and is approved by University Grants Commission of India (UGC). It is located in the Industrial capital of India, Kanpur, and U.P. It is administered by the government of Uttar Pradesh.

The university is one of the Largest University in India and offers courses in various disciplines namely, Engineering, Management, Arts, Science, Commerce, Law, Medicine, Computer Applications and Biotechnology. It offers various Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Doctoral Programs through its Departments and Affiliated Colleges. CSJM Admissions are done either on the basis of scores obtained in the Entrance Exam conducted by the University itself or on the basis of UPSEE Entrance Exam Score. The application for admission in conducted in two phases, March and April. This is depends on the courses applied for.

The university is spread across 264 acres of land with booming academic and extracurricular facility. To fulfill the needs of the aspiring young minds of the country it has a Computer centre, department of adult and continuing Education and a college development council. It has over 170 affiliated colleges in over 15 districts.

Additionally, the university provides reservation for selected sections of the society. This is done as per the guidelines by the U.P Government.

Kanpur University (CSJMU) UG Courses Admission

CSJMU or we can say Kanpur University offers B.Sc, BA, BFA, B.Com, B.Lib.Sc, BBA, B.Ed,  B.Sc (Medicine), and  B.P.Ed courses in full-time mode at the UG level. These mentioned courses are offered at Kanpur University or CSJMU campus as well as in the Affiliated Colleges of Kanpur University.

10+2 in the relevant subject group is the minimum eligibility criteria for these courses. Admission to all these courses is based on an entrance test conducted by CSJMU except for BA for which marks in the qualifying examination are sufficient.

B.Tech aspirants must qualify for the UPSEE Exam to be eligible for Admission at CSJMU.

Candidates can submit the application form through both online and offline mode available on CSJMU Website. For online application form, the candidates have to submit the application fee of amount INR 600 and INR 400 (for SC/ST category candidates).

Application Process

Candidates willing to fill in the application form of the University can do so online.

Admission to certain courses will comprise of an entrance exam.

• Click on the University Entrance Exam link.
• Before filling the application form, applicants are suggested to carefully read the instructions.
• Applicants need to deposit the application fee of amount Rs. 600/- (for general and OBC category) and Rs. 400/- (for SC/ST category).
• Fees should be paid through Credit card/Debit Card/Payment Gateway/Net banking
• After filling all the details in the form candidate can click on the “submit” button.

The fee can be paid by using Credit/Debit card, through E-Challan of AXIS Bank, or through Internet Banking of AXIS Bank only.

Candidates Applying to BTech through UPSEE scores need to first fill in the UPSEE Application Form from the official website. After which the candidates need to visit the official website of CSJM University and fill in the University’s application form.

Candidates appearing for the Entrance Test can download the admit card from the official website when available. Once the same has been downloaded, candidates are advised to take a printout of the admit card and keep it safe.

Kanpur University (CSJMU) UG Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should pass in the final examination of the 10+2 system or equivalent with chemistry, mathematics, and physics with 45% marks and 40% marks (for SC/ST category candidates).

Reservation

• Seats will be reserved for candidates according to the uttar pradesh government rules.
• Reserved category candidates must attach their attested true copy of reservation certificate with the application form
• ST vacant seats shall be transferred to SC category and SC vacant seats shall be transferred to OBC category 

Kanpur University (CSJMU) UG Admission Process

For B.Tech Admission will be based on the candidate's performance in UPSEE. There will be no negative marking. But a record of incorrect answers given by a candidate will be kept separately.

UPSEE will comprise of objective type questions. All Papers shall be OMR based Tests only.

For the merit of successful applicants the cut-off % of marks in UPSEE-2019 is 25% (20% for SC/ST) as per UP State Govt. order.

The qualified candidates must bring the following enclosures at the time of admission:

• Original Certificates of 10th class and 12th class with at least two photocopies of each
• Original certificate/degree of the qualifying exams
• Original Admit Card with the photocopy for the same
• Rank Card
• Bank Draft as per university guidelines

Hostel

• University provides hostel accommodation to both girls and boys candidates.
• University provides three well-furnished girls hostel with total capacity of 500 inmates and boys hostels with a capacity of 400 inmates.

CSJMU or Kanpur University offers M.Sc, MA, M.Com, MJMC, M.Ed, M.Pharm, M.P.Ed, LL.M, MBA and M.Sc courses in different specializations in campus and its affiliated colleges. Graduation in the related discipline is the desired eligibility criteria for admission. Admission to CSJMU or Kanpur University courses is merit-based. For some of the courses, the university also organizes an entrance test followed by counselling.

CSJM M.Phil and Ph.D. Course Eligibility

CSJM University offers three-year full-time M.Phil. program to candidates having Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field with minimum 55% marks in aggregate whereas, for admission to three-year full-time Ph.D. research course, candidates must hold Master’s degree/ M.Phil. in relevant field with min. 55% marks in aggregate. The last part of the selection of candidates is done on the basis of:

• Entrance Exam followed by Personal Interview conducted by CSJM University.
• UGC (NET)/ CSIR (JRF) Examination (for Ph.D.).
• Direct award of Fellowship by DST (INSPIRE) (for Ph.D.) or SLET/ GATE/ Teacher Fellowship holders.
• Any other equivalent test.

Kanpur University Placements:

The Chatrapati Sahuji Maharaj, Kanpur University provides good placements to its pupils. In order to provide the students with the good respectable job, the University has established a University Placement Cell [UPC] in 2009. The aim of Placement Cell is to provide the job placement facility to its students.
