On the last few legs of our college comparison tour, we will now shuttle into Rajasthan and select a few private colleges and universities for comparison. In this particular article, our focus remains primarily on Eight Private Colleges and universities located in Rajasthan.

The comparison of such a number of universities and colleges requires the establishment of certain key factors. These factors have been listed below:

Placements

The sole aim of going to college for most students is to get recruited during campus placements. Most college aspirants are curious about the placement numbers a college is able to post year in year out.

This is main reason why institutions such as IITs and IIMs are the most popular amongst aspirants, as they consistently post the best number in terms of packages and recruitments.

Student perception of a college/university

Student perception is easily the most inestimable factor and often plays the primary role in determining an aspirant’s university/college choice. Most aspirants choose a college based on their own set of trivial reasons. These reasons can be highly subjective

Ram Gupta, a B.Tech student at a private university in Faridabad had a chance to a highly reputed Engineering College in Karnataka. His reason for not joining: he was afraid he won’t be able to cope without knowing Kannada.

This is not a unique case. Many students pass over colleges and universities basing their decision on a number of seemingly odd factors. Such trivialities summarised together are the factor called student perception. Though it isn’t a quantifiable metric in this case, student perception is a very important factor while considering a college.

Infrastructure

While most students most of their time trying to compare the factors mentioned above (placements and perception), infrastructure arguably is the most important factor while choosing a college, especially for engineering aspirants.

Any service or facility provided by the college or university to help students achieve their academic goals can be counted under the category of infrastructural capability. This includes facilities such as labs, accommodation, library and presence of experienced faculties.

Affordability

Living in a climate where college/university fee has become an issue of contention in the minds of most aspirants, the affordability of a course at a particular college is a highly influential factor. While higher education was earlier considered a luxury for the elite, it is now a much more mainstream aspiration.

Thus, affordability comes right in the middle of the picture. While financial facilities such as education loans and aid are available to most students, the burden of a loan is often deemed a major hassle by most students.

Manipal University Jaipur

Manipal is one of the oldest names in higher education in India, especially when we narrow our gaze to private institutions. Manipal University Jaipur is the fifth university established by Manipal Global Education Services, the other four located in Karnataka.
