Punjab CET Exam Analysis

Paper Analysis 2017 of Punjab CET Exam

Overall Punjab CET Exam was of moderate level. Mostly questions were straight forward and could be easily solved by a student who has been well-prepared for the Punjab CET Exam. But some tricky questions were there too, which will play crucial role in distinguishing the top scorers.

Physics

Overall paper was simple on easier side and straight forward as compared to last year.
By and large, paper was on the expected lines without any element of surprise.

Mathematics

Overall paper was good.
Two-three questions were lengthy, but few questions were straight forward as well.
Questions were asked from all chapters.
Questions asked were conceptual in terms of tricks and approach.

Chemistry

Question paper was quite balanced.
Equal weightage was given to Physical, Inorganic and Organic Chemistry.
However, there was no question from topics like States of Matter, Chemistry in Everyday Life.
Unlike last year, most of the questions were conceptual while lesser number of questions were memory based.

Biology

It was the easiest of the three segments.
Chemistry was also rather easy.
While Physics was the hardest of all subjects, most questions were solvable in the given time.”

Biotechnology

Majorly covered the topic from Bio-molecules, cell and development and protein and gene manipulation.

Computer science

It was based on 'C++' programming and most questions were based on objects, coding and outputs which were to the point.
Those are well-prepared for logical and programming skills had no trouble in this section.
While an average student would have faced problem in getting outputs of few questions.
Some scoring and theoretical questions from networking, SQL and Boolean algebra.

Punjab CET Exam expected Cutoffs

To qualify the Punjab CET Exam, you need to secure 15% (for SC/ST/PWD 10%). Hence, the cut off is:

On the other hand, the merit will be prepared on the basis of Punjab CET Exam and Qualifying Examination score.
