About College
Thiagarajar College of Engineering (TCE), Madurai, founded by Late. Shri. Karumuttu Thiagarajan Chettiar and established in 1957. Karumuttu Thiagarajan Chettiar, son of Thiru, had done his schooling in Sri Lanka and even contributed to the participation in the struggle for Indian Independence.
- The college is affiliated with Anna University.
- TCE offers Seven Undergraduate Programmes, Fourteen Postgraduate Programmes, and Doctoral Programmes in Engineering, Science, and Architecture.
- Reservations are provided for the following:
- BC/MBC/DNC/SC/ST as per the rules of the Government of Tamil Nadu
- Physically handicapped / Ex-Servicemen / Sports persons / other state candidates

Festivals:
- Synapse is a Technical Fest organized at the campus.
- GLUGOT stands for GNU/Linux is the Free Software platform which was started in 20th December, 2003. The Free software festival (FStival) is organized every year by the GLUGOT members as a part of creating awareness about free software for people in and around Madurai
Student Achievements:
- Ms. M. Sowmya wins Second place in CII Southern Region YI response Session. She is selected to represent the Southern Region in the CII National Summit, Delhi
- IEEE Xtreme 6.0 Global Online Programming contest - Selvaram, Pradeep Kumar, Velayutham 3rd Year CSE placed in Top 10% World Ranking
- V. Anantha Raman, M.E. Power Systems Student won two Medals (Gold Medal for Shotput & Bronze medal for Javelin Throw) in National PARA ATHLETIC Championships 2012
- TCE Student Group of 8 members participated in Vijay TV Show "Peridhinum Peridhukel" which was telecasted on Vijay TV on 14 April 2012.
- Mr. M. Gowtham (IVth BE Mech) has won the Gold Medal in Environmental Engineering Discipline in National Level Design contest conducted by the National Design and Research forum, the Institution of Engineers(India)
- A. Ramesh (Final Year CSE) awarded Sahara Scholarship of Rs.12000 by NCC Directorate.
