About College

Shri Vaishnav Institute of Technology and Science (SVITS) was established in the year 1995 with three graduate programs with less than 200 students.

• SVITS is approved by AICTE and Govt. of Madhya Pradesh and is affiliated Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya, Bhopal and Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore for MBA.

• SVITS is an ISO 9001:2008 certified institute (Yr. 2002) and NBA accredited (departments CS, EC & TX) in the Yr. 2006 are the jewels of the SVITS crown.

• The approximate 3000 students have earned a reputation for technical and professional excellence in almost 16 years and is well set on its goal of developing creative technical leaders and competent managers who can transform our nation into a “Developed Nation.”

• The institute is equipped with the following Cricket field with Net practice, Football Field, Sports complex for Indoor games of 10000 sq.ft with, Table Tennis Tables, Hobby Center, Badminton Court, Multipurpose room with chess Caroms etc.

• College has well built separate blocks to house each department. There are spacious and well-ventilated classrooms, staff rooms and other amenities. 

Publications:-

• The College Magazine Horizon Edition Phoenix 2012 is a tribute to all those who have their achievements, thoughts, sketches waiting to be posted shared. This year’s edition is named as Phoenix. Phoenix stood for a mythological bird that bursts out into flames when it dies and then rises from its own ashes with a new life. It represents a new beginning, no matter how good or bad your past may be, you get back up on your feet. It can be simply interpreted that the end is just the beginning. We all have to change, for the better, for ourselves, for the pride and glory of our institute.

Alumni Meet:-

• The Alumni Meet began on 19^th Nov with the welcome of the Alumni. All the alumni were thereafter escorted to their respective departments. A programme was organized in the auditorium. The programme started with the lamp lightening and Saraswati Poojan. 

Placements:-

More than 70 % students of 2009 batch have placed in various companies like TCS, INFOSYS, ACCENTURE, MPHASIS, CAP-GEMINI, L&T InfoTech, PATNI, ZENSAR etc. More than 80 % of CS and IT students have been placed where remaining have chosen higher studies.

Achievements & Awards:-

• Chancellor Scholarship Award 2011-12: There were eight merotious students who got selected in the Rajiv Gandhi Technical University, Bhopal because of their hard work and presentation. All of them got Scholarship of 20000 rs.

Social Activities:-

 NSS: The National Service Scheme (NSS) was launched in 1969 for providing opportunity to youth in the universities and colleges to serve the society they are living in. It aims for the social service and nation building which would also put forward opportunities to the students to understand and realize the problems of the communities, awaken social consciousness and to establish a constructive linkage between the campus and the community.

• NSS day Celebration on 24th September 08, slides show on the intro and motto of NSS depicted along with the brief review of activities organized in the recent past and proposed for forthcoming session.

• A Plantation Campaign was organized on 15th Oct 2008 in the campus in association with “Art of Living foundation”. Campaign has grand success because 1000 students participated or more than 400 tree plants were implanted.

• TISR (Tata Institute of Social Research), Mumbai team visited the campus on 21st Oct 2008 and a survey is conducted for ministry of HRD with the help of NSS volunteers regarding the issues to be taken up by the NSS.

PRAYATNA:

• PRAYATNA is a mission carried out by the CSE and IT students. The students are involved in social service for computer awareness and education in rural areas. The main motive is to give them the basic knowledge about computers.

• Collection of 40000 books on shelf by 2014 year end.

• Library automation Library Software in place.

• E-Library on 20 terminals in collaboration with Computer Engineering Department.

• Subscription & membership of world’s renowned agencies, societies, digital Libraries.

• Finding new library resources for research.

• More quality Audio/Visual Resources.

• 1^st Best Library: Awarded by Indore Sambhog Pustkalaya Sangh Indore in 2005.
• Excellent Library: Remarked by ISO 9001-2000, Certificate No. FS78122

Auditorium:-

• An air-conditioned auditorium with an area of about 400 square meter and seating capacity of 230 is situated adjacent to the library. It has facilities of conducting seminars of international standards.
