About College
Mahendra Institute of Technology (MIT) was established in 2007 by the Mahendra Educational Trust. The College is situated on the Salem-to-Tiruchengode main road, about 25 km away from Salem. The vision of the college is to establish a Centre of Excellence in technical education, research and extension activities in order to create engineers and technologists to cater to the societal needs.

Facilities:
Library- The library has 10283 numbers of volumes and 3847 titles. It has subscribed 80 national journals and Infotrac Engineering Collection – online journals. The digital library has 771 CDs and computer center to access online journals and magazines to get update.
Computer lab- the computer lab has 70 systems with Intel core2duo processor, 1 Gb RAM and 160 HDD. It provides internet facility through Wi-Fi with 8 mbps speeds.
Hostel- The institute has well-furnished separate Hostels for Boys and Girls. Each Hostel is facilitated with single/double bed and dormitory arrangements. Each Hostel houses a Common reading room, Dining hall and mess facilities.
Sports- Institute has facility for indoor and outdoor games with modern indoor stadium, cricket ground and sports kits, spacious volleyball court are provided to encourage students. Indoor and outdoor games including basketball, volleyball, cricket, kho-kho, table tennis, carom, chess, badminton and football etc
