About College

Koneru Lakshmaiah College of Engineering was established by Koneru Lakshmaiah Education Foundation in the year 1980. It is affiliated to Acharya Nagarjuna University. The college has attained autonomous status in the year 2006 and from 2009 onwards it has become Deemed University.

  • The college is accredited by NAAC of UGC as ‘A’ Grade with 3.16 CGPA on 4 point scale.
  • It is approved by AICTE, New Delhi and it is an ISO 9001 - 2008 Certified Institution.
  • The Institute's mission is ‘to impart quality higher education and to undertake research and extension with emphasis on application and innovation that cater to the emerging societal needs through all-round development of students'.

Research

The institute is recognized as a Public Funded Research Institute by DSIR of Government of India, recognition for the excellent research environment in the institute. It receives several grants, the most recent one being a research grant of worth 0.45 Lacs under the DST-FIST scheme to implement 'Networking and Computational Facilities' received by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. It has many research areas, major ones being:

The college encourages the students to take part in cultural as well as social activities so they they can become responsible citizens. Some of the clubs are:

  • Aastha: It is a social club to organize the students, intellectuals, and to motivate them to serve poor, disabled, illiterate, and ignorant children, not as an act of charity but in the true spirit of our cultural tradition of service as a duty.

  • It has online e-resources and databases: IEEE, ASME, ASCE, ACM, STM DIGITAL LIBRARY EBSCO, STM JOURNALS ELSEVIER, SPRINGER, J–Gate-Engineering & Technology (JET), PROWSE, and DELNET.
  • It has a seating capacity of 1500.

The College has an internet connection. The campus-wide network is established with Hi-speed Fiber Optic backbone.

  • 240 Mbps hi-speed internet connectivity round the clock in the campus.
  • Internet facility is available in the hostels.

  • Indoor Auditorium with 1500 capacity.
  • World class conventional center with 400, 380 X 5, 250 X 4,180, 60 & 60 capacity air conditioned halls.

Sports infrastructure

  The College encourages its students to explore latent talents by providing good sports facilities. The institute is equipped with the following:

  • Indoor stadium of 30, 000 sq. ft. with modern facilities including a gymnasium, yoga and meditation center, a hobby center, facilities for drama, chess, caroms, etc.
  • Facilities for outdoor games including an athletic track, hockey field, cricket, volleyball, basketball, tennis, netball, beach volleyball, tennis court, football field, etc. 

Other facilities like placement cell, anti-ragging committee, post office, Fax, banking, ATMs, etc. are also available.

The college conducts technical and cultural festivals. Through these festivals, K. L. College of Engineering is imparting organizational skills, leadership skills, competitive spirit, and team behavior skills to their students. Along with knowledge, KLU festivals are providing recreation to the student community.

  • Samyak: The College annually organizes the techno-management fest in the odd semester of the academic year. This festival contains many technical events to hone the technical skills of the students.
  • Surabhi: The College conducts a cultural festival in the even semester (February) every year. It is the best platform for the students for exhibiting their talents and creativity.
