About College

Bengal Institute of Technology (BIT) is a private engineering college located in Kolkata. It was established by Techno-India group in 2000. BIT is affiliated to West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT).

• BIT offers undergraduate engineering degree program in four disciplines and post graduate degree in computer application
• All the courses are approved by AICTE, New Delhi
• BIT provides the most modern infrastructure; well-equipped labs, top notch project labs and spacious conference rooms. The class rooms are equipped with projectors for better understanding.
• The College has an active training and placement cell which helps students in providing training and campus placements. Some of the prominent recruiters of the college are- Accenture, Infosys, HP, IBM, TCS, Cognizant, Wipro etc.

Admissions:

• Admissions to these programs are done through WBJEE exam
• Eligibility criterion for undergraduate engineering program is 10+2 examination with Physics and Math as compulsory subjects along with one subject Chemistry/Bio-Technology/Computer Science/Biology with minimum pass marks.

Library- BIT Central Library has 1762 titles, 19953 volumes, 17 national journals, 6300+ e-journals, 5 magazines. It uses Libsys/SIM software package which is an integrated multi-user library management system that supports all in-house operations and it consists of modules on acquisition, cataloguing, circulation, serials, article indexing and OPAC. 

Festivals/Events: BIT organizes following festivals and events throughout the year-

• Impulse- It is the annual cultural fest of BIT
• Bits2Bytes- It is the tech-fest of the college.
