About College

Urumu Dhanalakshmi College was established in the year 1946 but before that it was an orphanage. It was run by a kind hearted soul, Urumu Seshachalam Chettiar. He was a great philanthropist and bequeathed his entire property to the poor people. His work for the poor and needy is commendable. This college has been named after his wife. This College is affiliated with Bharathidasan University. The college is located in the rural area and the needy and poor people of the neighboring areas come here to study with a hope to build a bright future for them. Slowly and gradually, more subjects were added to the college and today it has a lot of disciplines to offer to the students.
