About College

Madras University is one of the oldest and premier universities in India. The university was set up in 1857 and has ever since been synonymous with quality education. The university was set up by an Act of the Legislative council along with the Universities of Mumbai and Calcutta. The university offers both under graduate and post graduate courses. Some salient features of the university are:

  • Madras University is the mother of almost all the old Universities of southern India
  • The motto of the University is Learning ‘Promotes Natural Talent’
  • The university has 17 Autonomous College under it and also has 20 Non- Autonomous College under it
  • The University of Madras has developed an excellent Institute of Distance Education in the year 1981 to help learners to achieve their educational, career and personal goals
  • NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) has given this university 5 star status in its recent examination. UGC (University Grants Commission) has given the university the tag of ‘University with potential for excellence’

National Services Scheme (NSS)

The NSS is a value based youth programme aimed at developing the personality of our educated youth by involving them in community development during their leisure hours. This scheme was introduced in the University of Madras as early as 1969. The NSS had a voluntary strength of 18,300 which was spread over in 105 colleges in the University of Madras

      University of Madras are offer good Placement service & Some its a government college many companies reached, lots of students are placed, Job opportunities are good in government colleges comparatively in private colleges. And 97% percent of batch mets get placed in their core field. We didn't get much worry about job placement because in last year fully companies visited to our campus for new recruitment. Alumini is functioned with an great effort Seniors are visited. Our college with an regular interval and do their best to college for sponsor job opportunity to us and some others extra to college libraries and buildings . All Faculty Awesome every one have related field exp person Each and every person more than 15-20 years of the field exp person only taking class for the students. Our University Also Offer Internship & scholarship.

      A candidate seeking admission to M.Sc. Marine Microbiology and Biotechnology course must have passed minimum three years of Bachelors degree in Basic/Applied Biological Sciences (Bio-medical/Bio-science/Biotechnology/Biochemistry/Microbiology/Agricultural Sciences/Food and Nutrition/Environmental Science/Veterinary Science/Fisheries Science/Medical Imaging Technology/Operation Theatre Technology/Medical Lab Technology/BE-Biotechnology/B Tech Biotechnology /Medical/Dental/Pharmacy/and any other equivalent life science degrees of any Board/University or an equivalent examination of any other approved Board or University with not less than 50% marks in aggregate. The Candidates are selected on the basis of rank and marks scored in the TANCET 2016 exam. The TANCET, conducted by Anna University on behalf of Tamil Nadu government, is conducted annually for admissions in PG courses. The exam is not only for the students of Tamil Nadu, but for anyone who fulfills the eligibility criteria.
