Manonmaniam Sundaranar University is a state university named after Tamil Scholar Professor Manonmaniam Sundaranar Pilai. The university has 24 education departments in the fields of art, languages, Sciences, and Engineering. University has 102 colleges in three districts of Tamil Nadu affiliated to it. Currently, there are 65000 students who are studying in various affiliated colleges affiliated under it.  As university departments on their way to becoming center of excellence, various departments are receiving various research projects from various organizations in India, USA, Japan, and Europe. It is the first university to offer Choice- Based Credit System.

Placements: Last year the university holds a Job fair in which 352 students are selected by various companies.

Facilities:

Library: University library has over 60000+ books in its collection. The library also subscribes to hundreds of journals and periodicals for research work.  Here are details of some of its collections:

Hostel: University provides only hostel facilities to girls.

Extracurricular Activities: There are various departments and clubs through which students can engage in various extracurricular activities:

• Department of Youth Welfare: This department is actively involved in multiple tasks that include youth welfare, skill development, motivation programs, personality development, and developing a sense of social responsibilities.
• National Service Scheme: This unit encourages students to volunteer in various social events like blood donation camps, social awareness campaigns, development of rural areas, etc.
