About College

Chettinad Health City brings a new turn to the Healthcare Industry. The aim of the group is to provide a world-class medical facility in its medical college, dental college, and nursing college.

• Introduced by the Chettinad Group of institutions in 2005 Under SECTION 3 OF UGC ACT, 1956. The University can accommodate 350 students yearly
• Chettinad Health City has committed to serve good treatment in the communities at the nearest areas. CHC’s well-planned outreach programs have given so much benefit to almost 2 lakhs different-aged people of nearest villages
• CHC also has a Research Institution which  imparts advanced research activities in all fields of medical sciences
• Good quality of healthcare is provided which can be compared with international standard
• Accredited by NAAC
• The University is recognized by UGC ACT, 1956 and approved by MCI.
• Chettinad Dental College and the research institute are approved by DCI.

Infrastructure

Chettinad Health City is flourished by a green, eco-friendly campus. It spreads over 1.2 million sq. ft. of built-up area. It is a dreamland of students, researchers, and healthcare professionals who want to improve the health of the city and surrounding areas. CHC is located just 30 km away from Chennai in South India.

This is 700 bedded teaching hospitals with Medical and Nursing Faculty and most of the various parts of medicine. Technologies like genomics, Computational biology, biotechnology, nanotechnology, and bioinformatics help in the bio-medical research interface. A new generation of clinical and basic researchers is well-trained expert doctors and scientists in this project the departments are mentioned below:

Research

It is a heartbeat of bio-medical research. Research is provided by Prof. RM. Pitchappan, a pioneer in human immuno Genetics and infectious diseases.

• Bioinformatics and computational biology & pathway analysis in diseases status 
• Native medicines, Marine Pharmacology & Drug discovery
• Nanotechnology in diagnostics, targeted drug delivery, vaccination 
• Human genomics & Genetic epidemiology in Infection and lifestyle Diseases
• Environment, Pollution & Lifestyle diseases epidemiology 

Facilities

Library

The library is well stocked with over 9000 books and over 54 journals of which 11 are international and 43 are national journals. Library also subscribes to online periodicals. The Digital library with over 35 computers and high-speed internet facility and audio visual aids is popular.

Hostel

Superior quality hostel facilities are provided in this university with a separate hostel for both girls and boys.

• Single, double, and dormitory type rooms are there in all the hostels
• The rooms have been furnished with all modern amenities
• Drinking water facilities, hot water facilities, power supply, etc too are available on the campus
• The teachers, staff, and other employees have separate accommodations as well in the university campus

Laboratories 

In well-equipped laboratories, Lectures are arranged with hands-on experience.  90 students can be accommodated in each laboratory.
