About College

Rani Durgavati University was established in 1956 at Jabalpur. This vision was carried to fulfilment on the ninth of February 1959 when Rani Durgavati Vishwavidyalya (once University of Jabalpur) started to be. 

  • The University in its current incarnation lures ability from onto every part of Central India.
  • The National Accreditation Council (NAAC) granted the University a B+ rating in 2002, which is the most noteworthy in the district.
  • The University indulges in quite a substantial catchment region spread over numerous areas of Madhya Pradesh with a populace of 1 crore roughly. Nestled in midsection of lavish green Sita Pahadi, the University has one of the finest establishments in the state.

  • Notwithstanding the University Teaching Departments, the University contains 151 colleges.

Extra-Curricular Activities:-

Youth Festival: 

  • It has been consistently arranging Youth Festivals and other identified social exercises like shows by SPICMACAY pushing Indian Art Forms. 
  • Youth Festival is a unique cultural event that is annually celebrated with boundless enthusiasm and provides an opportunity to youth to display their rich artistic talents, often nurtured hidden. It is an ideal medium to achieve national and emotional integration and brotherhood  amongst the youth by bringing the diverse cultures of different regions across the country. 

Facilities:-

Hostel:

  • The university houses the Devendra Boys’ Hostel, with 100 rooms for male students, supervised by Dr. CSS Thakur.
  • The Kasturaba Women’s Hostel, with 80 rooms for female students, supervised by Prof. Alka Naik.

Library: The university library, also known as the Pandit Dwarka Prasad Mishra reading hall, has a collection of more than 2,00,000 books, 10,000 research journals and 5,000 thesis journals. All these items are provided to the students, for their betterment and proper education.

Internet/Wi-Fi:

  • The classrooms and computer labs have undisrupted broadband and Wi-Fi connectivity for the aid of the students.
  • The students can visit educational websites to gain more knowledge on their respective subjects.

Medical facility:

  • The University Health Centre is placed inside the campus under the in general superintendence and course of a completely qualified full time specialist.
  • The Centre has an indoor patients ward with 5 cots.

Auditorium:

  • The auditorium is utilized for a few reasons by the scholars.
  • They can hold open deliberations, rehearse viva examinations, perform plays, and even partake in a few sorts of indoor games.

Sports infrastructure:

The university sports ground may be utilized by the researchers to play cricket, football, tennis and even hold yearly games meets for all the divisions.

Festivals:-

  • The university organizes the State Youth Festival, held from 12th to 14th of February every year.
  • The festival has several events and categories, namely, Cultural procession, Management Debate, Painting, Poster making, Collage, Cartoon Drawing, etc. 

Scholarships:-

  • The university offers merit-based scholarships to underprivileged students, who find it difficult to pay the fees for their education.
  • The university offers this scholarship to only 30 students every year.
  • Students have to sit for an entrance test, and if they get the criteria marks, required for the scholarship, they get a scholarship certificate stating the wavering off of their fees.

      B.Sc Admission criteria is Candidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with 50% marks. And he should have studied Biology as a subject in 12th standard.
