Dr. Hari Singh Gour University popularly Known as Sagar University/ University of Saugor was established in the year 1946. It is central university and is oldest university of Madhya Pradesh. University has campus sprawling over 830 acres of land. It has many colleges affiliated to it. It is accredited by NAAC as A grade University.

Hostels: College has 5 boys and 2 girls hostels. Every hostel has 2 seated rooms. Rooms will have cot, almirah, chair, bookshelf, etc. Hostels also have TVs, reading rooms, newspaper and other sports material.

Library: Jawaharlal Nehru library of university is the oldest and largest library in the Madhya Pradesh. The library has 3 storyed building with the current stock of 300000 books and journals. Library also has internet facilities for students, the database of library holds 100000 entries.
Sports: University has playground facilities for various games like Cricket, football, hand Ball, Lawn Tennis, Kho-kho ground. Also have facilities for various indoor games.
Centres:
Science Instrumentation Centre: It was established in the year 1976 under UGC assistance with the main objective to repair and maintain the laboratories, research and analytical services on various instruments.
Education Multimedia Research Centre: It is one the prestigious centre among 22 Media centres in the Country. This centre in Dr. Harisingh Gour University was established in the year 1994 under the MoU signed among UGC, Consortium of Educational Communication and the University itself. This center is utilized in broadcasting various educational programs on National TV channels.
Scholarships: University provides scholarship sanctioned by the UGC to various eligible students.

Campus life is very good in my university. College management is also too good. In my opinion if you want to do any postgraduate course in life science or biotechnology it will be your right choice. Faculty is very qualified lab condition is satisfactory. There are also well qualified teaching members.

MBA admission criteria - Graduation and a bachelors degree in any discipline obtained through the 10+2+3 system or an equivalent qualification with a minimum aggregate of 50% (for SC, ST 45%) from the recognized University.

In my university placement opportunity is not that much but job opportunity is good. Because of very good reputation of my university all the organisation take interest to provide them a job. In respect of biotechnology in India there are not that much opportunities in private sector but there are so many research institution that are playing major role in research In these institution biotechnology graduates and postgraduates are getting research opportunities with fellowship and after getting research exexperience they can get research opportunities in abroad.

Dr Hari Singh Gour University provides internship. For the PG course internship it will give stipend also but for this you have to clear an exam stipend for the internship.
