About College

University of Kashmir (UOK), Srinagar came into existence after bifurcating the University of Jammu & Kashmir built in 1948. The University has 3 campuses – Hazratbal, Naseem Bagh, Mirza Bagh and an additional land at Zakura for further extension.  It also has 4 more satellite campuses for people living in remote areas of Kashmir valley.  The University has 50 affiliated, 11 constituent, 8 Oriental and 68 Non – Govt. affiliated colleges of education offering courses in all major fields.

Hostel

3 hostel for Boy’s (Gani Kashmiri, Mehboob – ul – Aalam, Maulana Anwar Shah Kashmiri) and 3 hostel for Girl’s (Habba Khatoon, Rabia Basri, Qurat – ul – Ain Haider) on shared basis

Boy’s hostel have a total accommodation capacity of 438 students

Girl’s hostel can jointly accommodate 340 students

Why to join the University?

  • ‘Merit Scholarship’ for 1st & 2nd semester students is given on merit basis in the Entrance exam, 3rd + 4th/ 5th + 6th semester on the basis of merit in the previous semester

      This University has very good in every aspect. The staff and management of this college is very good. They are always helpful and cooperative with students. The college provides every essential service to the students. The College has a very good library. There senior students has a very good communication with juniors. The department provides equal opportunities for all the success. This department is very good in sports also. Every year inter department tournaments are played.

      Basic admission criteria for B.Tech is Students who have minimum 50% marks in 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as main subjects are eligible for B. Tech. Electronics and Communication. For Lateral Entry admission, students who have cleared 1st year in the same course can apply for admission to 2nd year in a different college and those who have diploma in Electronics and Communication are also eligible for this program.
