Internships expose students to situations that are different from classroom assignments. Students may have to work with existing code, communicate with team members, meet deadlines, document their work, test solutions, and understand business requirements. These experiences can improve both technical and professional skills. Even when an internship involves basic tasks, students can learn a lot by asking questions, understanding why tasks are done in a particular way, and keeping track of what they learn.
