The trail to the cliff paintings is actually quite manageable and well-marked, providing some of the most stunning panoramic views of the river and the neighboring Lao landscape. It’s a highlight of any trip to ubon ratchathani and you can easily spend a full morning exploring the mushroom-shaped rock formations nearby. My advice is to wear sturdy walking shoes and bring plenty of water, as the heat can pick up quickly along the exposed sandstone cliffs.
