About College

Mata Gujri College (MGC) situated at Fatehgarh Sahib, Punjab is the result of dedication, vision and determination of Bibi Gurbachan Kaur Mann with the aim to promote higher education in the area. The college was taken over by S.G.P.C (Shiromani Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee), Amritsar in 1964 and under the administrative control of it. The vision of the college is to strive, seek, find and not to yield. MGC’s mission is to provide educational opportunities with skills and knowledge to the rural youth that will them to become a social, technical and professional person in life. The objectives of MGC are to provide skills and knowledge to increase their employability and to make them achieve success in personal as well as social life.

• Overall Development of the students: The College not only believes in the academics but also in the overall development of the students providing and organizing seminars and organizing educational visits to many renowned firms, organizations and places like “Science City, Kapurthala”, “Delhi Stock Exchange”.

• Industrial Training and Placement Cell: The Placement cell provides placement and training assistance by collaborations and tie ups with renowned organizations and firms like CMC Limited, DELL, HCL Technologies, Airsoft Infosys and many more which offers the students lucrative offers. The College also organizes summer training programs to enhance the practical knowledge of the students and giving them industrial exposure. The Cell provides around 65% placement assistance in the recent academic year.
• Achievement of MGC: The College has got the Autonomous Status from UGC and became the first college in Punjab State to the get the status.
