Konkan Gyanpeeth College of Engineering was established in 1994. Konkan Gyanpeeth is a Public Charitable Trust. The College was initially started with Computer Engineering, Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering and Instrumentation Engineering.
- Mission of the college is” To impart the total quality education at undergraduate level by striving for economic well being of local community and the region”
- The college is completely self financed and one of the leading institutes among all the engineering colleges
- There are trains for Karjat from Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST) every half-an-hour. Which takes 11 hours and there are trains from Pune station, which takes 2 hours to reach Karjat.
- College is approved by AICTE and affiliated to University of Mumbai

Spring Fiesta -It is an annual function organized by the college. Events that were held are Antakshari Competition, Singing Competition, Personality Contest, Debate, Elocution Competition and a Fashion Show.

Student Admission in Bachelor of Technology program must have Passed 10+2 Examination of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and secured minimum 50% marks i.e. 150 out of 300 marks ( 45% marks i.e. 135 marks out of 300 marks for Backward Class category candidates from Maharashtra only) in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics added together in 10+2 or its equivalent exa
