Formerly known as Dehradun Institute of Technology, established in 1998 by Late Shri Naveen Agarwal, DIT received the status of a University on March 12, 2013, vide Uttarakhand Act No. 10 of 2013, recognized by UGC under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956.

College Infrastructure and Facility

Auditorium	University has centrally air-conditioned with a fully sound proof set up and equipped with latest technology for all types of audio/video facilities with capacity of 500 people.
Open Theatre	University has state of art Open Air Theatre with capacity of 500 people.
Classroom	University has state of art classrooms with modern facility.
Laboratory	Campus has state of art well equipped laboratory for each department for conducting advanced Research.
Computer Centre	With over 1000 latest computers including 30 Macs, 30 All-in-ones, 42 High end HP Workstations, 60MBps Internet connectivity and state-of-the art hardware and software across all our computer centres
Library	Veda - The Library, gives you access to books and journal collections as well as study spaces, IT and photocopying resources. Our collection of over 1 Lakh books has grown rapidly in recent years and is an excellent resource.
Hostel	Campus provides separate hostel facility boys & Girls with accommodate capacity of 1,200 boys & 1000 girls. Hostel facility is available in single, double & triple sharing basis. Also provide separate mess facility for girls & boys.
Medical	Campus provides medical facility under the guidance of qualified and experienced doctors of the prestigious Max Super Speciality Hospital Dehradun. A Lady Medical Officer is available on campus during the better part of the day and Nursing Staff and Ambulance are available 24×7.
Cafeteria	University has 3 cafeterias in different blocks of the campus provide drinks, snacks & meal facility. Campus also has a Café Coffee Day outlet.
Recreational Centre	It has sports facilities on campus for Cricket, Football, Basketball, Volleyball and Badminton, Billiards, Table Tennis, Carom Board, Yoga, and Gym with professional trainer.
