Assam Medical College, Dibrugarh is the most oldest & leading institute of the north-east region of India. It was started up in the year 1900 with the name of Berry-White School of Medicine. In 1947, the college was renamed as Assam Medical College. Therefore, was well established in the year of 1947. It has got affiliation from the Medical Council of India & the University of Dibrugarh.

• It was the first college to start up the X-Ray & radiology departments in the India.
• It imparts degrees of MBBS, MD/MS, Nursing, Midwifery & Pharmacy.
• The college offers 170 seats for MBBS, 109 seats for Post graduate degree, 32 for Post graduate diploma& 100 seats for pharmacy course.
• All classes & labs are well equipped with modern facilities like wi-fi& LCD projectors.
• All emergency services like Medicine, Dental, surgery,Psychiatry, Neurology, Plastic Surgery, Cardiology, ICU, and ICCU etc. are available for 24 hours in Casualty department.
• The Hospital attached to AMC Has 1365 capacity of Bed strength in all departments including ICU's.
• It was ranked 10th at national level ranking for providing excellent education.
