About College

Assannagar Madan Mohan Tarkalankar College was established in the year 2007 with permission of the W.B.C.H.E‚ and is affiliated to the University of Kalyani. In the very short time, the college has emerged as a centre for higher studies.

The first session was started with pass course in Humanities. However in the very next session honours course in Bengali and History were started. Honours courses in English and Sanskrit were introduced in 2009 and in pass course Education and Philosophy were also introduced.The college is one of the new entries in the educational map of West Bengal. Its performance in various university examinations is commendable. The college has the objective of Catering education to all sections of the society and particularly to the educationally and socially backward community.

The rural people in the region of the college have gathered a lot from this institute since the college with its modest fees and other expenses proved attractive to the people.
Although the college cannot comprise of a large building or other amenities that are found in neighbouring colleges. The college feels proud of its dedicated teaching faculty and office staff. It is possible with this dedication that the college have been successful in establishing its reputation as a well-performing institute among the colleges affiliated to the University of Kalyani.


On the infrastructural front, the college has developed new classrooms, a new library with necessary books, new set of equipments for the students of Physical Education etc. There has been modern mode of teaching introducing in the college like ICT and Multi-Media.
