About College

Anglo Sanskrit  College offers undergraduates, postgraduates and diploma courses in the field of Arts, Commerce and B.sc in Fashion Designing. It is located Oege for women is a girl college affiliated to Punjab University Chandigarh and accredited to the B++ level NAAC in 2005. The collegeN Amloh Road , Khanna , district of Ludhiana with motive of making girls self-dependent through education.

Some of the facts of the college are :

  • A.S College for women was established in 1973 and formally inaugurated by Giani Zail Singh ,the Chief Minister of the Punjab
  • The college was started with 473 girls in 1973-74 with 5 elective subjects. Classical Dance as an Elective subject is being offered w.e.f. the session 2008-09
  • The college providing career opportunities by offering B.Sc. Fashion Designing started in the year 2008-09
  • The college has well-equipped spacious play-grounds, sprawling lawns, blooming flowers, Gymnasium Hall, Home –Science Labs, Language Lab, Commerce-Block, Computer Labs, Fashion Designing Lab, Fine Arts Room, Sada Virsa Room
  • The college Motto (Satyam Shivam Sundram) is adopted to serve as an inspiration to the students

Library:

The college has well-equipped library in which 21,000 valuable books, 95 Journals, periodicals and 12 news papers are available.

Cells- The college has various organization and activities for students to create experiential learning

Students face numerous problems while choosing their career , so the college’s career guidance cell help students   about further career options .

NCC

The college has started NCC Wing from the session 2005-06 under 4 punjab girl.The college also has  Annual Training Camp at NCC Academy, Ropar 32 NCC cadets attended Annual Training Camp at Akal Academy.

NSS

It organized a seminar with the collaboration of Rotary club, on the topic, ‘Female Foeticide’and  7 days camp with aim of educating people.

      Eligibility For Admission in B.Com - 1) The Student who have passed B.Com-part I of the university under 10+2+3 system, with at least 50% marks in the aggregate. 2) The student who have passed B.Com-I year under 10+2+3 system of education from any other university,the B.Com examination of which is recognized as equivalent to B.Com courses of this university and where the subjects offered were the same as prescribed by this university.
