About College

Gargi Memorial Institute of Technology (GMIT) was established in 2000 by Mallabhum Human Resources Development Trust (MHRDT). GMIT has named the Gargi Memorial Institute of Technology in memory & honor of late Smt. Gorge Mukherjee, who had immensely contributed to the activities of the trust. This trust registered under the Trust Registration Act, West Bengal 1950. GMIT courses are approved by AICTE and college is affiliated to West Bengal University of Technology. The college possess state-of-the-art infrastructure and have International Corporate Tie-Ups for excellent placement.

GMIT offers scholarship named as “Sir Gooroodas Banerjee Scholarship”. Sir Gooroodas Banerjee was the first Indian Vice Chancellor of Calcutta University and one of the eminent judges of the Calcutta High Court. For respect and homage to Sir Gooroodas Banerjee GMIT announces a scholarship of Rs. 30,000/- bearing his name for meritorious students who had rank within 12000 in WBJEE.
