About College

The Faculty of Law, Gujarat University is the top college in the state of Gujarat. The faculty was established in the year 1977. The School of Law is recognized by the University Grant Commission (UGC). In the year 1982, it was shifted to present building.

  • Faculty of Law is the most challenging legal institutes in the entire nation.
  • It is the best faculty in the country for Environment and Legal Order and Intellectual Property Rights Study.
  • The school of law produced many intellectual persons in different legal professions.
  • The faculty of law provides all essential facilities such as library and hostel to its students.
  • Courses offered at the school of law are Master of Law (LL.M.) in Environment and Legal Order and Master of Law (LL.M.) in Intellectual Property Rights. The duration of course is 2 years and divided into 4 Semesters.
  • The intake capacity for both courses is 75.

 

 

Being a challenging institute in the nation, the school of law has strong faculty members who are experts in the field of legal education. Dr. K. C. Raval and Dr. S. P. Rathor are two notable faculty members of the institute. Faculty members are quite enough to give education in different subjects of law such as Commercial Laws, Consumer Protection Laws, Taxation Laws, Human Rights, Child Rights, Environmental Laws and Intellectual Rights.

 

 

Courses offered by the school of law are –

  • 2 Year LL.M. (Intellectual Property Rights)
  • 2 Year LL.M. (Environment & Legal Order)

 

 

As a part of Gujarat University, students of the faculty of law can participate in extracurricular and co-curricular activities organized by the university. Extracurricular activities like –

The School of Law to improve the knowledge and skills of students organize lecture session on the TOPIC – CLIMATE CHANGE on every 4th Saturday of the month from 4.00PM to 6.00 PM.

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Faculty of Law is sufficiently equipped with all modern facilities. The school provides personal computers along with high-speed internet connection to the faculty members.

 

 

 

 

Library –      

  • The faculty has its own library and features numbers of books, journals and other resources. Students can also use internet in the library to search their study materials by accessing to several online resources such as Supreme Court Case online, AIR and Manupatra.

 

Hostel –

                   

Being located in the university campus, law students are accommodated in the main university hostels. The university has –

 

  • 6 Boys Hostels -  550 students
  • 3 Ladies Hostels – 196 Students       

                                    

Career and Placement –

 

When the students completed their courses to get jobs in multinational companies the faculty has fully functional placement and career facility. Hundreds of students are placed in renowned law firms since its establishment.
