National Institute of Technology Mizoram was established 2010 by Kapil Sibal, Ministry of Human Resources Development, Govt. of India. It offers Bachelor degree programmes in Computer Science Engineering, Electric & Electronic Engineering, Electronic & Communication Engineering and Mechanical Engineering

• This institute has been declared as an Institute of National Importance by an Act of Parliament
• The institute is one of the 30 National Institutes of Technology situated in Lengpui, Aizawl,Mizoram
• The institute conducts All India Entrance Exam-Joint Entrance Exam for admission
• The campus has an area of 250 acre comprises of 1 Administrative Block and 3 Academic Blocks at Chaltlang, 3 Hostel Blocks at Tanhril and 1 Hostel Block at Zemabawk
• The institute is located in Aizawl, Mizoram which is 35 kms away from Lengpui (Aizawl) Airport. Silchar is the nearest railway station to Aizawl

Extra-Curricular:

• Jigsaw- It is a cultural festival celebrated in the college
• Mantham- It is a sports festival in which various games are organised
• Drishti- It is a photography club. It aims at capturing the memorable events of NIT Mizoram and to bring out the art of creation and innovation through the medium of photography
• Infinity- It is an annual newsletter

Library:

Library consists of 5000 books and subscribed e-journals through INDEST like IEL, ASME Journals, Springer Link (1300 journals), MathSciNet. It purchases various national newspapers like TOI, Telegraph, Newslink, Economic Times, Employment news and also magazines like India Today, Sports Star
