About College

 

National Institute of Technology (NIT Nagaland) was established in 2010. NIT Nagaland is managed by the NIT Nagaland Society registered under the Societies Act. The institute is fully funded by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. The first batch of NIT Nagaland (2010-2014) studied at NIT Silchar for two years and then the NIT Nagaland has shifted to its home state, Nagaland in September 2012

  • Motto of the College is “Education is Power”
  • Vision of the college is “To manifest the activities of the Institution in a way that the students emerge as true leaders of Science & Technology and to enrich them with strong decision making capacity and skills so that they glorify the name of the Institution as well as the Nation”
  • Mission of the college is “To boost the career prospects of the graduating students and to make them competent to face global competitiveness and provide intensive quality training for the students to improve their skills and credibility”
  • It is one of the 30 National Institutes of Technology
  • On October 13, 2012, former Union minister of human resource development, communication and information technology Kapil Sibal inaugurated the NIT Nagaland at Chumukedima
  • The institute is located at the Old DC Complex at Chumukedima, about 14 kilometers (8.7 mi) from Dimapur
