Facilities

Hostels :

Hostels re very neat and clean and have been very much well maintained. This is the best thing because hostels must be well furnished because students are coming from distant places to stay and thus fit in. There are many residential hostels there in this University.

• The names of the some of the famous hostels are Holland Hall, Ganganath Jha Hostel and Tarachand Hostel
• There are 12 hostels

• Sports –Sports facilities are being provided so that student and enjoy and also remain fit. It helps the students to keep fit as a fiddle and thus it helps him or her in all the ways.
• NCC – There are 2 active and energetic National Cadet Corps Units - the Naval Wing and No. 2 U. P. Artillery Battery
• Banks – Having a bank is very good for the students. They do not have to go anywhere else for various transactions and the like. The State Bank of India is there on the campus itself. Application forms are also made available in the bank.
• Post Office – There is a Post Office in the campus. It is ideally located in the campus having the Arts Department. It is serving very well. It remains open on all the working days.
• Guest Houses – The Guest House is indeed very beautiful and thus provides all with every ounce of satisfaction that one needs. There is TV in every room. The rooms are very well furnished and maintained. One can filly enjoy here.

Cultural Activities : Cultural Council of the University is very much active and in action for encouraging various cultural functions of the University. These extracurricular activities are aerially helping the students to show their talents. The best thing is that all the students are able to participate thus show there hidden talents. The students are encouraged to participate in all the activities if the Universities. Many renowned persons are being called in to see the programmes. Cultural activities of this University are very good and it provides with ample case for all to show and expose their talents. Students get freshen up.

Ranking :

University of Allahabad was ranked No. 8 by the India Today in the Indian University Rankings and No. 5 in the North Indian University Rankings of 2012.
