    Reviews about faculty at JKLU?

    • Priyanka Sethi 2020-02-04 13:50:18

Ashwini Sir in the department of management is one of the best profs that I like. He is very innovative with the methods of his teachings which makes us all the more excited about the next the classes that we would have with him. This is true in reference to most of the faculty at JKLU. The education here vary technology driven where we learn by doing. The concepts that we learn in classrooms are left redundant but are used by us to solve the real-world problems. Sounds interesting? Yes, it is. This also makes us feel very empowering that we are capable of helping the society in our own small ways. The faculty motivates us to not give up when the algorithms do not seem to work, we do not get the management projects do to fetch us the desired output. The profs tend to stay with us on the campus till late in the night help us tackle the problem from different perspective.

  • Achala 2020-02-04 13:47:13

How is the curriculum like at JKLU?

    • Priyanka Sethi 2020-02-04 13:53:50

The curriculum is very dynamic which keeps us on our toes all time. There is no time to lay back and read only when the exams approach. The syllabus that we are taught is the most updated and driven by the latest market standards. We get a lot of guest sessions conducted by the industry leaders. We a get lot of comparative advantage with close and sustained dialogue with industry. The industry leaders also help mentoring and counseling us in our career choices and what courses to study to enhance out skill set, which courses to choose from for higher education, providing us with full time work opportunities and internships at reputed organizations.

How good is faculty at JKLU?

    • Priyanka Sethi 2020-02-04 13:49:45

We have lot of good faculty who keep nudging us to work upon our strengths and build onto them rather than focusing on our weakness and keep getting demotivated. The faculty at JKLU is not your conventional profs who come to college and deliver the lecture fort the sake of duty and then go back after blurting out some assignments. We are blessed to have profs who are actively engaged in our progress and do a lot of out of class interactions on how can one keep upgrading their interest area, the latest happenings in the respective fields, the area where there is scope of improvement and good chances of growth. Overall, I am have moved by the hard work of the profs who sacrifice their family and personal time to help us get out of the confusion and develop a rock solid will and character which is integral to successful life.

  • Achala 2020-02-04 13:46:15

    Is faculty helpful at JKLU?

    • Priyanka Sethi 2020-02-04 13:52:38

The faculty at JKLU is very helpful. They make sure that we do not sit clueless through the class and help us troubleshoot all our doubts instead of rushing through the syllabus. The profs take extra classes on the weekends so that the concepts which we have not been able to grasp could be explained in detail. This is very beneficial for those of us who take a little extra time to understand concepts and imbibe what the prof is trying to tell us. If not for these extra classes (initiative taken by the faculty), I would have flunked in my exams. But the profs do a lot hand holding for those who need a little support and have the desire to improve in their academic life. Most of the faculty have shared their personal contact number with us, so whenever we have some urgent doubt that we want to be solved; we simply call up our profs and bail us out of the situation.

    Is there ATM in JKLU?

    • Priyanka Sethi 2020-02-04 13:52:01

There is an IDBI Bank in the university premises where many of the students have their accounts so that they avail all the banking services within just 5 minutes of walk. There is also an ATM, it supports the withdrawal of money from all the ATM cards. This is huge relief for us as we not have travel or leave the university premises to access the banking services. Otherwise withdrawing and carrying cash outside the university is a risky affair. Our parents also relieved that their children easily withdraw the money when they transfer it to us.

    How is faculty at JKLU?

    • Priyanka Sethi 2020-02-04 13:49:26

When I was in school, I wanted to go abroad and study, but it could not possible due to some reasons. However, when I came to JKLU I met so many of many of many profs who have studied and done their PHDs from abroad and also have taught in top foreign universities of the world. This sort of fulfilled my dream of being taught of highly intellectual profs who are masters in their own fields. Also, through the personal connections of my faculty I have gotten a chance to network with profs teaching other world’s top universities. It would not have possible if not for the proactive initiative of the faculty to nurture my interest and motivate me to look out for the experts in my area of interest. The profs invite us over formal dinners !!! at these formal dinners we are so deeply motivated to study hard and learn from the life stories of our professors.

    Is JKLU good for studies?

    • Priyanka Sethi 2020-02-04 13:54:30

The university has reimagined the education system thereby bringing a lot of different and new perspectives. The education that we receive is multidisciplinary which is made possible through the awareness with models, discussions and seminars on different subjects such as economics, management, health, social sciences, politics, history etc. this something very unique that I have across only in JKLU. The intersection of the different driplines cutting across the boundaries of the rigid syllabus system is very intriguing. From the student’s perspective it makes the education more interesting and fun to learn and understand

  • Achala 2020-02-04 13:42:40

    How are studies at JKLU?

    • Priyanka Sethi 2020-02-04 13:48:58

There is a lot of autonomy and flexibility in what we want to learn at JKLU. Through there is a broad outline of what we have to do and are not left entirely unguided by the profs. With the broad outline in mind, we start to navigate the structure on our own and do need constant permissions/approvals of the faculty. There is freedom of knowledge that we enjoy the most which comes with certain amount of responsibility. The progress of our project is constantly monitored through trackers and delivery of the projects. Such a model of learning helps us to follow our curiosity and to pursue a new interest. The engineering students often sit through classes of design (B.Des) and try to learn what is design thinking and how it can applied while creating a new product. Or the management students sit in our classes to understand the technicalities of the product that they want to launch and build upon as their startup idea

How is the interview experience at JKLU?

    • Priyanka Sethi 2020-01-09 17:41:24

The interview experience at JKLU was a very good one. The first round of interview is taken by the admission team which is very friendly and they ask you some basic questions as to what you have done so far and your experience all throughout your school and college life(if you are applying for postgrad course). The second round of interview is taken by the senior leaders of JKLU. This is a formal interview where they try to gauge why do you want to apply for the course? How does the course fit into your future plans? What are your future academic plans?. This is an easy interview and not a very tough one. If in case you don’t have answer to any of their questions, then just keep calm and tell them you don’t know. After the interview thank them and close the door politely. JKLU will inform you about the results after a week or maybe less than that if you seemed to be an ideal candidate. I would suggest that wear formals if possible when appearing for an interview. This gives a good impression of you and also makes you look more neat and appealing. Good luck for the interview!  Hope you get selected.
