About College
The Indian Institute of Technology Ropar is the 8th new establishment of the IITs in India. It was initiated by the Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD), Govt. of India to enhance the quality of technical education in the country.
- Main campus is stretched over 520 acres of land.
- IIT Ropar now has working parts for 7 separate sections &schools utilitarian at the institute.
- The institute has provided extra-ordinary chances to students to enhance their academic skills by teaming up with UK schools for distinctive summer sessions.
- The curriculum followed at IIT Ropar provides for science-based engineering education, with a view to producing quality engineer-scientists.

The IIT Ropar has a day care center for interested parents. Children are taken care of & parents need to volunteer or support the crèche if they want to keep their children there. |
Scholarships
- Facilitates Merit-cum-Means scholarship to about 25% of the students(AIR) up to 10,000 per month.
- Free Studentship to 10% of the students on the basis of AIR (All India Rank).
- Offers merit prizes and certificates to the top 7% of the students of each 4-year B. Tech program up to Rs.25,000.
