About College
Manipur University, Manipur was established under the Manipur University Act 8 of 1980.It was converted into a Central University on October 10, 2005. The University has teaching cum affiliating authority over entire Manipur. It presently has 76 affiliated colleges & 1 constituent college under its jurisdiction.

3 Boy’s hostel (Thangjing , Koubru & Langmeiching), Thangjing can accommodate 165 students, Koubru with 55 rooms can accommodate 92 students, Langmeiching is a three-storied block with accommodation strength of 100 students |

2 Girl’s hostel (Urirei, Kombirei) established on July 24, 1982. A new block is given to fresher students while Old block is reserved for Research scholars & senior students |

Urirei hostel has an accommodation capacity of 68 students, Kombirei hostel contains 50 rooms and can accommodate 45 students |

The University Guest House is a 17 room (2 bedded) is present within the campus |
Scholarships:
- Fellowship for Rs 3000/- per month for M Phil and Rs 5000/- per month for PhD is awarded to the deserving students on Merit basis.
- Four scholarships of Rs 250/- per month under ‘Special Assistance Program’ of Life Sciences Department which includes two students of Manipur University and the rest two from other Universities.
- Limited number of free studentships is available for needy and deserving students as per the University Rules.

Candidates with at least 50% marks either in the Bachelor's degree and / or in the Master's degree in Sciences/ Social Sciences / Humanity, Bachelor's in Engineering or Technology with specialization in Science and Mathematics with 55% or any other qualification equivalent thereto, are eligible for admission to the programme. The reservation and relaxation in favour of the reserved categories shall be as per the rules of the Central Government / State Government, whichever is applicable.
