About College

Bharati Vidyapeeth is a deemed University that was established for higher education in 1964 by Dr. Patangrao Kadam, an Indian politician, and educationist. It has more than 78 schools and 60 institutions of higher education with a common aim of preparing manpower capable of contributing in the nation and economic development. Currently, there are 29 institutes under this university. Accredited as A grade university by NAAC, Bharti Vidyapeeth is recognized by the UGC for collaboration with other international universities.

The Pune campus of the university is located in Bharati Vidyapeeth Bhavan, Lal Bahadur Shastri Marg, Pune which has 4 campuses in at Katraj (Dhankawadi), Balewadi, Lavale, and Kothrud. Bharti Vidyapeeth Deemed University provides NBA accredited programs in the field of Pharmacy, Engineering, and Management. Apart from that the university also has colleges in medicine, ayurvedic, nursing, engineering, management, catering, pharmacy, hotel management, agriculture, environmental science fields.Other campuses of the university are in New Delhi, Navi Mumbai, Pune, Solapur, Kolhapur, Sangli, Karad, Satara, and Panchgani.

Campuses in Pune:

• Lavale Campus: Lavale Campus of Pune is surrounded by mountains on 350 cares of land at the outskirts of the city. Established in 2012, university has an engineering college with hospital facilty.
• Katraj (Dhankawadi) Campus: It is spread across the 85 acres of land with 5 acres for sports facilities for 24 colleges in various disciplines like the Medical College, Dental College, & College Of Engineering Pune, etc.
• Erandwane Campus: This campus has 5 major and other smaller colleges like Institute of Management Entrepreneurship Development Pune, New Law College Pune, Pune College of Pharmacy and Yashwantrao Chavan College of Arts Science & Commerce, etc.

Events:

• Resilience 2014- BVDU's annual exhibition and display of academic work of students of the university.
• Symposium- The Symposium lectures were conducted on 8th-9th 2014 after a live Evacuation drill by the Pune Municipal Corporation Personnel’s. Seminars included series lectures by visitors on the topics - Challenges of Disaster Management & The Institutional Mechanisms, Urban Disaster Management, Municipal Corporation & Role of Hospitals in Disasters, Terrorism and Stampedes.

• Dr. A.P.Pawar from the same college got MPA Award for the contribution to pharmacy session
