About College

Shree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit is research intended Public University.  The university was established in the year 1993 and named after the sage- philosopher Adi Sankaracharya. The university works in research, publishing, and preserving several manuscripts and books in Sanskrit and other various languages.

• The University brings out a unique academic curriculum of spreading spiritual Sanskrit education throughout the country and the University has been instrumental in bringing some policies for the manifestation of spiritual education at various levels
• Apart from offering some world-class courses in Sanskrit and Indian Philosophy, the University has some well-acclaimed courses in Fine Arts and Music
• The academic forums and committees of the University are known for their global presence and lucid structure
• SSUS has full rounded courses for imparting foreign languages

Library: College central library has a good collection of books, which includes 77800 books, journals, manuscripts, and periodicals. Library also has e-journals and e-books subscriptions. The library is automated with KOHA open source Library software.

ICT Center: The main objective is to facilitate central computing with server for staff and students in a university. To organize and conduct various short term courses for the students and also to develop human resource in the field of information and communication technology.

Hostel:  The campus has the following hostels for boys and girls:

• Hostel for Research Scholars (Boys)
• Boy’s Hostel

Career Guidance and Counseling Cell:  This cell established in 2012 under the funds granted by UGC in order to equip the students of the university for the better career management

Festivals: Kalasandhya - As the name suggests Evening of Art. It is a cultural evening in which various traditional and artistic acts and performances are done by students of the university.
