The National Institute of Technology or NIT, Hamirpur was established in the year 1986. Earlier it was known as Regional Engineering College.

NITH understudy form distributes a twelve-month school magazine called Srijan, the word is actually in Sanskrit. The meaning is “to make”.

This is introduced in the year 2003. Previously it was known as "Raceme" a sort of inflorescence in botany, applied sciences, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Electronics designing.

Festivals

NIMBUS is the Annual Technical Festival of National Institute of Technology, Hamirpur and Himachal Pradesh, India.

NIMBUS has turned into the greatest specialized celebration of Northern India.

Hostel

The people concede in the National Institute of Technology, Hamirpur (HP) from all parts of the nation.

• There are six hostels in this establishment

• The boys’ and girls’ hostel are separated

• Five of the hostels are for boys

• Different hostels have different names after the Himachal Pradesh mountain range

Library

The Institute library was set up in the year 1986 in one room of Government Polytechnic Hamirpur and it was moved to the Institute grounds in 1988 in Visvesvarya Block.

The library has got a seating limit of 100 bookworms in perusing corridors and 50 book fans in Audio-Visual Hall.
