About College

Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya (GGU) established as 9th state university of undivided Madhyapradesh on June 16, 1983 by an Act of the State Legislative Assembly. The university is named to honor the great Satnami Saint Guru Ghasidas. University aims at advancing knowledge by providing instructional and research facilities in various branches of learning. It promotes innovation in teaching learning process, interdisciplinary studies & research, establishes linkages with the industries for the promotion of science & technology educate and train man-power for the development of the country and is committed to the improvement of the social and economic conditions and welfare of the people by improving their intellectual, academic & cultural development.

• GGU is an active member of the Association of Indian Universities and Association of Commonwealth Universities
• The National Assessment & Accreditation Council (NAAC) has accredited the University as B+
• The campus is located 5 Km away from the main town
• GGU became a Central University of India under Central Universities Act 2009, No. 25 of 2009 with the name of Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya
