Jai Prakash University was established by the Bihar State Universities Act, 1976. The University is stretched over the whole of Saran Division Comprising three districts of Siwan, Gopalganj and Chapra. The university was named in memory of freedom fighter and famous Politician Loknayak Jai Prakash Narayan.

Eligibility Criteria - Candidate should have cleared 10+2 or higher secondary Examination with English as one of the subjects with minimum percentage is generally between 50% or 60%. Students who have appeared in higher secondary Examination and are awaiting results are eligible too.
