About College
Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati, was established on 10th August, 1959 by our First Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. The college started with just three B.E courses in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering with an intake 40 students each in all the streams.
- In 1971-72, Post Graduate courses were started in the University
- In 1977-78, B.E & M.E courses were transformed to B.Tech & M.Tech courses.
- A sprawling campus of nearly 1000 acres (6 km2), it is one of the largest universities in India
- The architect of the b building was the famous Mokshagundam Visvesvarayya
- Professor W. Rajendra is the present Vice Chancellor of the University.
- Research and development is encouraged at this university.
- The university has eight constituent colleges of its own.
- It also has a post graduate centre at Kavali. Almost 71 diverse PG courses and numerous Diploma and Certificate courses are accessible to students at Sri Venkateswara University.

Library:
- It was started in 1955 with a 6700 books and later it was inaugurated by the then President of India, Late Dr. S. Radhakrishnan in 1964.
- It has capacity for 400 users and made on an area of 56,637sq. ft.
Festival:
Nexus- Started in 1978, an annual 3 days long inter-college social festival. Eminent rock bands like Parikrama, Indian Ocean, Advaita and Euphoria and even celebrity singers like KK, Sukhwinder Singh, Shankar Mahadevan and others have performed at this festival.
There is a beneficial system of scholarships at Sri Venkateswara University, which includes:
- Full Semester Tuition Fees Scholarship
- Prizes for First Rankers in Test and Examination
- Merit cum Means as the criterion
- Prizes will be provided for the first rank holder in Continuous Assessment Tests (CAT)

A sprawling campus of nearly 1000 acres, it is one of the largest universities in India. There are departmental clubs. But these are not functioning properly. One can join in NCC which will be very beneficial. There are all sorts of facilities for sports. Tournments are conducted regularly. Annually cultural fests will be conducted. Average quality and method of teaching. It has small collection of 6,700 books library. It has a good placement records.
