About College

Acharya Nagarjuna University (ANU), Guntur was established in 1976 by the former President of India, Sri Fakruddin Ali Ahmed.

  • This University since then has grown into a large university with 39 academic departments, including several self-financed courses.
  • It is one of the major universities in the country covering many colleges and institutes of districts in the region.
  • Its jurisdiction was extended to three districts now having over 450 affiliated colleges offering under-graduate, Engineering, Education, post-graduate, Law, Pharmacy and oriental languages courses.
  • Today University has 39 post-graduate teaching-cum-research courses on the campus, while 71 affiliated colleges offered P.G. courses.
  • Act 43 of 1976 of A.P. State Legislature set up the Acharya Nagarjuna University
  • It was renamed Acharya Nagarjuna University by the A.P. Universities (Amendment) Ordinance, 2004
  • A Post-Graduate Centre in Guntur was started in 1976

Facilities:

Library: The Library centrally located with an independent and spacious building consisting of 4 floors including basement hall with total user space of 3000 square meters.

The rich collection built over a period of about three decades has some rare reference materials and several important journals. The annual budget is about 65 Lakhs in 2009-10 of which subscription towards periodicals alone is about 45 Lakhs. The total holdings of the library exceeds 1, 23,200 documents.

Hostel:

  • There are three hostels, each better than the other
  • A maximum of 650 students can be put up in these hostels
  • The Indira Priyadarsini Ladies Hostel can accommodate 370 female students
  • There is a separate hostel for the scholars also. 100 scholars can be accommodated here without any hassles.

Computer Centre

  • There is an up-to-date Computer System
  • It is well equipped with quality software, systems, machines and all other relevant infrastructure

Scholarships:-

A wide variety of scholarships and financial aid packages are being provided for the students of this university. These take off almost 10-20% of a student’s normal expenditure and make it possible for him/her to pursue his/her courses at a very nominal cost

      Internship are easily available in the near by area. A few companies come for placement. The companies that will hire will only be manufcturing.

      The classrooms, library & labs are sanitized very well for maintaining cleanliness. It has a key feature of Wi-Fi. faculty gives up a greater support for our every aspect we're trying regarding to our studies. It provides some diversity aspects to keep students unity and it restricts use of alcohol &drugs in and around campus.
