About College

St Anthony’s College of Meghalaya is an old institute which began with a very humble start towards the education of children. One of its closely held accolades could well be the ‘five stars’ accredited by NAAC – making the College first ever in the North-eastern region of India. This coeducational college holds the honor of being the first of its kind set up by the Salesians for imparting higher education. St Anthony’s College of Meghalaya has been also awarded with the title of being a ‘College with Potential for Excellence’ by the University Grants Commission of India.

1. Unique Range of Programs Offered

St Anthony’s College of Meghalaya treads on the path less traveled and aims to offer unique set of courses namely Bachelors in Music, Khasi, Mizo, Mass Communication, Media Technologies, Pisciculture; Masters in Biotechnology and Computer Applications and Certified Courses in CISCO and Oracle 10g.

2. Anti-ragging Cell

Similar to all of its other initiatives, it proudly has started what is known as an anti-ragging cell simply to avoid untoward incidents amongst the new incumbents who join the college.

3. Motivation provided through Student Awards

Every year St Anthony’s College of Meghalaya enlists the names of those students who have performed exceptionally in one field or more. These students are recipients of cash prizes and certificates governed by the Donors and the college.

4. Cyber Club

The Students of St Anthony’s College has formed a Cyber Club whereby they strive to learn as well as teach computer not only to the trainees of the college but also to the less privileged students of the rural community. This is how probably they succeed at imparting computer knowledge to all of them and make them more proficient.
