About College

D.A.V. College Chandigarh was established in 1958, when the city of Chandigarh wasin its infancy. It is affiliated to Panjab University, Chandigarh. The college has grown with the city, becoming an integral part of the region's socio-cultural milieu. The college belongs to the family of the famous D.A.V. institutions, founded by Mahatma Hans Raj, and inspired by the great visionary-Swami Dayanand Saraswati. The College has been accredited by NAAC and recognized by UGC.

  • National Cadet Corps: The College has three wings of NCC. They are also prepared for Regular commission in the Army, Navy and Air Force
  • National Service Scheme: The College has been allotted three units under NSS. The NSS volunteers who attend NSS camps regularly get an advantage over others in admission to postgraduate classes

  • The Library has a total collection of about 1 lakh 20 thousands books, journals and books on various languages

  • Boys Hostel: Hostel accommodation will be provided strictly on merit for about 250 students
  • Girls Hostel: Hostel accommodation will be provided strictly on merit for 400 girls in the hostels attached to the college campus. All essential facilities are available to the boarders
