About College

Xavier Labour Relations Institute widely known as XLRI is India's leading private, business management school based in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, India. XLRI was originated in 1949 by Fr. Quinn Enright.The Institute moves forward with the visualization of Father Enright who visualized XLRI to be a companion in the development and liberation.

  • During its beginning Courses for Management and trade unions was induced.    
  • It is India’s leading B-School and acknowledged as India’s oldest business management school. It constantly features among top 5 B-Schools of India                                         
  • The placid XLRI campus spanning over 50 acres. The institute has an expansive campus located in Jamshedpur with the beautiful setting of the Dalma Hills in the North.

It has got 3 schools along with Virtual Interactive Learning, Fellow Program & Research, and Executive Education. These schools are:

FACE – Father Arrupe centre For Excellence

An inclusive community of people comprising students, faculty, NGOs, educationists, etc. for issues like poverty, inequality, sustainability to nature, development of cooperation with tribal leaders and people, etc.

CRM – Centre for Rural Management

 The centre supports to build new management knowledge for rural development in area of health, sanitation, infrastructure, awareness. It also builds plans to create leaders from corporate society and industry for the betterment of the rural area.

CLSCM – center for Logistics and Supply Chain management

It caters to the need in the field of supply chain and management/logistics. It has tie-ups with major professional bodies and it also has started Postgraduate Certificate program in supply chain management and logistics.

Facilities

Hostel

Hostel facilities at XLRI consist of 4 blocks with more than 400 rooms in total.

The four blocks are as follows:-

  • The Fr. Enright Men's Residence

        It is a five-storied structure with 100+ rooms in Single occupancy and twin sharing formats.

  • The St. Thomas Men's Residence

        It is a three-storied structure with 100+ single Occupancy rooms.

  • The Mother Teresa Women's Residence

        It is a three-storied building with 45 single/double rooms.

  • The Nilima Acharji Women's Residence

        It is a small block with 20+ twin sharing rooms

Sports

  • There are several fields/courts of various sports in XLRI e.g. Football, Basketball, Badminton, Cricket, Tennis, and Volleyball
  • There is a multi-facility gymnasium as well with all equipped machines and instruments
  • It also has associations with local clubs/associations for facilities like swimming, Squash, Athletics, etc.

Library

The library at XLRI Jamshedpur caters to the information needs of students, faculty, scholars, etc.

It also has an automated information and documentation center with a compiled database of books, journals, research papers, etc.

Sir Ratan Tata Trust Scholarship

 Five students from HRM-II and BM-II courses are chosen for this scholarship and an amount of INR 50,000 each.

 Aditya Birla Scholarship

 It offers an amount of INR 1,75,00 from the chosen Candidate from the top 20 students of the college. XLRI also offers scholarships for needy people who are meritorious MBA aspirants but poor.
