About College

Xavier Institute of Management, popularly known as XIMB, situated in Bhubaneswar is the result of a social contract between the OJS (Orissa Jesuit Society) and the Government of Orissa. The Management of the institute is in the hands of a Governing Board, comprising of representatives from the Jesuit Society, Government of India, Government of Orissa and eminent educationists and industrialists. Established in the year 1987, is one of the best management institutes of India.

  • It has been awarded accreditations from NBA and South Asian Quality Assurance Systems (SAQS) by the Association of Management Development Institutions in South Asia (AMDISA).
  • All the courses of the institute are AICTE approved. The Institute is also a member of AACSB and is on track for being awarded the AACSB accreditation
  • Since XIMB is an autonomous institute not affiliated to any university, it does not grant degrees. However, the two year Post-Graduate Diploma in Business Management and two-year Post-Graduate Diploma in Rural Management (PGDRM) are recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and are equivalent to an MBA degree.
  • It is one of the best colleges in terms of campus placements. The past recruiters include TATA, HSBC, HDFC, Axis Bank, Accenture, Wipro etc.

International Collaboration: XIMB has international exchange programs of faculty and students with many renowned institutes. Some of them are following-

  • Fordham University, New York, USA
  • Warsaw School of Economics, Warsaw, Poland
  • Eastern Michigan University, Michigan, USA

Academic Overview: XIMB offers academic programs based on the standard model of management education practised globally. The postgraduate diploma in business management, human resource management and rural management are some of the main academic programs of the institute. Except these institute also offers some diploma and certificate programs.

There are some research centers setup at the institute for achieving excellence in the research areas. Some of them are-

  • Management Development Centre: XIMB has set up an ultra modern development centre with all the modern facilities.It has three suites, 34 twin-sharing, air-conditioned rooms with round the clock Internet connectivity. It has 4 training halls and a hi-tech air conditioned auditorium with capacity of around 850 people.

Placement Description: The placement process at XIMB is known as Xuberance. The institute has achieved spectacular placements for its students of 2012-14 graduating batch.

Festivals/Events: The following cultural and business events are organized in the institute-

  • Xpressions-  An annual business strategy games festival organized by the student community of XIMB
  • Business Conclave- It is a three day long interactive session organized by  X – Fin (the Finance Club), MAXIM (The Marketing Association) and XOps (the Operations Team). It is a national level event which witnesses guests from industries to share their views, experiences and ideas.
  • The HR Summit- The HR association of XIMB organizes an HR Summit to allow students to interact with senior HR professionals and industry leaders
