About College
Symbiosis Institute of Operation Management is a constituent of Symbiosis International University, Pune. Symbiosis, the main organization which is behind the sustenance of this big operational management institute, was founded in 1971 by Dr. S.B. Mujumdar. Symbiosis Institute of Operation Management has got accreditation by NAAC with ‘A’ Grade. It offers Masters Programme in management specilities
- This college was set up with an aim towards a world Class Management Programs with prominence on operation management
- SIOM inspires its students to confidently confront the challenges of the corporate world by participating in non-academic activities like, Meditation, Art of Living, Yoga and Workout
- There are various committees which are there to control the functioning of these extra, apart from studies, which include Placement Committee, Web Committee, Cultural Committee, Guest lecture Committee, Sports Committee, Library Committee and may more. Here is the list of activities which are there in the college premises
- The campus is sprawling over 1.973 acres which consists of well-furnished 7 class-rooms, guest house, labs, separate hostel for boys and girls, Lecture Theatres etc.

Publication:
The college has its newsletter christened Chrysalis. This newsletter has a wide variety of contents which include the following details.
- CEO talk - An excerpt from the interview with the CEO of the month.
- Eminent Personality- A column which talks about the eminent personalities who visits the college in a particular span of the time.
- Educator's edge - This column displays a variety of articles from the faculty of the college.
- Quills - A book review column on the latest book released and other contemporary literary works
Entrepreneurship Cell:
It is a student body which endorses entrepreneurship among students. It invites various well-known entrepreneurs to deliver lectures to edify students. Knowledge Camps are directed throughout the year to include students in activities that are vital to an entrepreneur. E cell is all set for a series of events like:
- Workshops & guest lectures on nuances of Entrepreneurship
- Business plan competitions
- Social initiatives
Students in Free Enterprise:

It is an effort towards giving back the extensive financial and social stature to marginalized farmers. This project has aided a group of 103 farmers from Sinnar Taluka near Nashik to operate a Producer Company-“Devnadi Valley Agricultural Producers Company, Sinnar”. |

It aims towards the upliftment of women in the slum areas. It has empowered them to start their own business of making floor cleaner, hand wash and candle through a well structured training program. |

DRISHTI -The Annual Fest

It is a two day fest that includes various events that range from management games, quizzes and panxzel discussions to dance, music, bands etc. |

Scholarship:
The scholarship offered is a SIU Sports Scholarship where outstanding sportsmen and sports women of the institute are awarded a scholarship of 12000/- per annum. The number of scholarships is limited to only 5 outstanding deserving candidates.
