K. J. Somaiya Institute of Management Studies & Research was established in 1981 with a vision to serve the education needs of the society at an affordable cost with the objective of providing state-of-the-art education in management and allied areas.

 

 

The SIMSR  is nestled in a 65 acre campus and is the largest private educational complex in Mumbai.

 

 

The institute was inaugurated by Dr. Manmohan Singh, the ex-prime minister of India, and has since established itself among the top B-Schools in India.

SIMSR's is a great place for students to study with the facilities like

The college is very much active in extracurricular activities and hence promotes its students to bring up their talents and raise the reputation of the college. The activities include cultural events, managerial events, musical concerts, sports events etc. The activity that is regularly organized by the college is Conferences. The college hosts various discussions and presentations on various hot topics and invite many prominent speakers for the same. These are some of the committees in the institute which promotes all the extracurricular activities.

 

Placement :

Here placement assistance is provided to the students. A full-fledged Placement Committee comprising of the students (guided by Chief Placement Manager) helps in the placement of the students. So far, SIMSR’s placement record has been excellent since its inception in top organizations. More than 135 companies visited the campus for final placement for all PGDM programmes for the Batch 2010-12.

iCON: iCON (Ignited Camaraderie Of Nobility), the Annual Technical Inter Collegiate Event is a collection of stimulating, exciting & electrifying events such as Click-o-Mania, Director’s Cut , Web-o-Nix, C – Metric , Techno- Ad Mad Show , X- Your Rivals , XChange- Mart etc.

MELANGE: K J Somaiya Institute of Management Studies & Research’s Annual Inter College Festival, sponsored by the house of Mahindra, with ONGC and Religare organizes various events which have the support of brands such as MTV, Godrej, ONIDA, Mercury Travels, Naaptol, Freecharge, Draft FCB ULKA, Spykar, Essel World, INIFD, Geobuzz, Gyan Central and MBA SKOOL and Educationtimes.com.

ChitraRekha (Online Photography competition):  (Online Business Quiz)

Investrix and Samavesh: Both of these fests organize a corporate panel discussion every year in the institute which constitutes the panel discussion on various topics like Indian Banking sector, etc.

NaviKaran: It is the first Marketing Fest of SIMSR organized by Interface, the Marketing Club of SIMSR. The sponsors for the event are Godrej Interio, MTS, Uni-Spa, zoomin.com, etc. This includes the following events.

      Placements are good as you can expect from a premier institute. So if you have the skill sets then you will get placed. Students forget that for getting placed you just a good college is not enough for that a thorough understanding of the concepts are required so that if the interviewer throws any question on you will be able to answer the question.
