About College

The Department of Management Studies IIT Delhi, also known as DMS IIT Delhi, is the school of management education and research in Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. The PG Management education initiated in IIT Delhi in 1976 with the School of System and Management Studies.  The department established in 1993 by an amendment in IIT Delhi statutes. 

  • Currently the school runs a two year full time MBA program, a three year part time MBA program and doctoral programs in various management fields

  • A Center for Excellence in E-governance has been established to promote research in the area of governance. It is a state of the art facility for research and training on e-governance

  • The department provides consultancy support to various international organizations like the US Air force

  • The Department has contributed in the policy formulation and operational activities at the highest level of the Government, University Grants Commission (UGC), All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Ministry of Human Resource Development and various corporate enterprises

Academic Overview: The MBA program of DMS, IIT Delhi has a full-bodied structure, in which a prudently chosen set of core courses that lay the basis for all arenas of management is accessible in the first year, and a wide choice of electives under each management zone are offered to students in their second year

  • Master of Business Administration (Full Time) on Telecommunication Systems under the aegis of Bharti School of Telecom Technology and Management.
  • Master of Business Administration (Part Time) with Focus on Technology Management:
  • The college also offers Doctoral program (Ph.D).
  • Master of Business Administration (Full Time) on Management Systems

Apart from the specialized necessary courses in the focus area, the students have choice for handy area specialization in Information Systems, Marketing, Strategy, Finance, Organization Management, Operations, HR, etc. 

Extracurricular: The intonation of student life and actions on the campus is to provide a bracing and inventive environment. There are many facilities to supply to various relaxations of the students. The institute involves of various clubs and societies which the students can seem to pursue hobbies

Festivals: Institute has various festivals that are organized from time to time. In addition to the festivals organized by the institute like annual inter-college cultural festival “Rendezvous” and “Utsav” a festival in which the students are showing to various art and craft forms.

DMS has its own various festivals and events. Department sees a wholehearted participation in these activities from corporate world and other B-schools across the country- 

  • Parivartan- It is the Business festival held in January which is aimed at providing the young management prodigies of country a platform to know, discuss and debate on contemporary corporate issues.

Placement Description: 

  • The postgraduate program in management at IIT Delhi has existed over two decades and providing excellent education in management to help students getting their dream job.
  • The final placement process of 2013 MBA batch has wrapped up and has attained 100 % placement. A batch of 50 students got placed in traditional sectors like Marketing and sales, BFSI, Consulting and operations. Some of the leading recruiters were American Express, Citi Bank, JP Morgan Chase, ICICI Bank, P&G, Johnson & Johnson, Infosys , ONGC etc.

IT Infrastructure

The Department of Management Studies has 5 fully airconditioned Wi-Fi enabled lecture theatres equipped with LCD projectors to ensure the best possible environment for learning. The auditorium has a seating capacity of over 150 and hosts numerous guest lectures, seminars and other programs.

Students can use 2 libraries, the departmental library and the Central Library.

  • From INDEST (Indian National Digital Library in Engineering, Sciences and Technology) and other contributions, the students have contact to a massive collection of journals and databases, counting Capitaline, Science Direct, Euromonitor, etc

Hostels

The institute provides in total of 12 hostels, 10 for men and 2 for women. Each hostel is self-contained with a mess, common room, reading room, indoor games room, gym and other such facilities. The rooms are provided with internet through a 10 Mbps leased line

Student Activity Centre

 

The Centre comprising a Club Building, Gymnasium Hall, Swimming Pool, Amphitheatre, Music Rooms, Hobbies Workshop and a large Dark Room, caters to various hobbies of the students. The center also contains huge Amphitheatre, which can accommodate 3,500 persons.
